A selection of some of my better photographs, most taken around my home state of Texas.
Total eclipse over Austin, Texas
Often mistaken for a type of cactus, which it is not, this succulent native of West Texas and the wider Chihuahuan Desert — commonly called by its Mexican name: ocotillo — is perhaps surprisingly more closely related to tea and to blueberries.
This photo of a tall in bloom, with a true cactus at its feet, was taken in Big Bend National Park on the 1st of April, 2019.
