a visit to .rising’s home studio & workshop • 05 2024
thankful beyond words for .rising. we began this partnership in 2022 when we never met in person, with the first shipment of goods brought home in a luggage on my first trip to seoul. their trust and unwavering support for the brand before it even materialised is the reason why we are here today. and to walk into their home studio two years later and have the photographs on their instagram page come to life… is truly a magical feeling.
i hope we get to design together for a long, long time. 🥂

Rise and shine, its summertime 🌞🧈🌳 My favourite part of the day is getting up in the morning, setting the breakfast table, and creating an hour of restfulness for myself at the beginning of the day.

a founder’s note: celebrating & .rising ✨
our partnership began in 2022, a chance occurrence and a serendipitous encounter. we’ve never had the chance to meet in person, yet established a bond based on trust and mutual understanding — the quality of their craftsmanship and unique design philosophy speaks for itself. so when i found myself booked for a trip back to south korea in may, i asked if i could visit their workshop.
finally getting to spend the day with .rising in their studio space meant having me visit their home. that was such a special experience for me, much like the moment when you realise; ah, we’ve come full circle.
we had breakfast, lunch, coffee, tea — spent the day together exploring their home and studio, playing with their cats, talking about life and about our hopes and endless design ideas (what you get when you place a group of designers together). they taught us how some of the lamps were assembled and packaged, tested and iterated, and my favourite part was observing how every corner of their home is decorated with designs of their own, past and present.
to share a passion for design, and resonate with a common aesthetic and philosophy — that will keep us going. ‘til the next time we meet 🍃✨ for now, we’re working on bringing our design ideas to life. can’t wait to show them to all of you — all in good time.
Summer's always cool with ice cream 🍨
Enjoy yours as a lamp or vase, in a gold cone holder.
Maybe you'll never sweat the small stuff again?
heart straps — 💜💛🖤💚🩷🩶
back in style, specially to pair with the string dotori. hook the dotori and let your little ones hold it comfortably, or when it’s not in use, strap it to your phone or bag. also, it just makes everything look a shade cuter. coming to you this weekend; get it individually or as a set with the string dotori.
if you missed the fluffy heart edition, this is for you!
I wondered, as I travelled Seoul with partners & friends, what made “core memories”. Beyond the moment itself, I think it is when everything aligns: the people, place, feeling. It is a juxtaposition of what you’ve just experienced for the first time, and what you’ve always hoped for. Even if it is a moment that catches you by surprise, or it happens unexpectedly. It reflects who you are as a person — unabashedly so, and in full acceptance by the people around you. When we seek rest and slow down amidst life’s happenings, it gives us the chance to feel, experience, and create new core memories that remind us of the “why” rather than the “what” we’re living for. And it’s amazing how one moment can change you; and remain a core memory forever. When was the last core memory you created, was it like that for you too?
“The moment is now mine to create, and i shall rest knowing it will last me a lifetime” — thank you for making this set of cards happen, in all the eden colours: dark blue for the ocean, grey for the rocks, light blue for the sky, green and brown for the forest, and yellow for sunshine. 🌊🌞🌳
nothing like a mirror to remind you of blue skies and fluffy clouds and that days will be better
place it on your table, take it on your palm when you need to, and adjust it to get the perfect angle - for catching sunlight or a glimpse of yourself glowin’ 🌞
our kinda spring lately — sun beams, catching shadows, long nights with friends, lots of laughter, an old memory or two; child’s play, a hug, catching the corners of a gaze and shared understanding, a message asking “how are you doing”. a tear or two, dinners at home alone, the faded beats of background music anchoring the passing of time. that’s life, accompanied by the deep resonance of the people around you.
for fluffy comfort everyday — just the right pop of colour in structured patterns, which visually demarcates space in your home and elevates its look. get a rug for a housewarming gift or for your own home, as part of the ongoing sale at 10% off storewide, til 25 march only.
The pursuit of being ·
"[But] we get so caught up in the daily grind, in the pursuit of the next step of the ladder, that we miss the point of being. I think the default state of life is that we will get filled up with small things. Whether small productivity improvements or minor inconveniences, it doesn’t matter. Either take away our chance to focus on something more.
In David Foster Wallace’s commencement address, “This is Water,” he stated, “The really important kind of freedom involves attention and awareness and discipline, and being able truly to care about other people and to sacrifice for them over and over in myriad petty, unsexy ways every day. That is real freedom. That is being educated, and understanding how to think. The alternative is unconsciousness, the default setting, the rat race, the constant gnawing sense of having had, and lost, some infinite thing.”" — In defense of the unoptimised life, Evan Armstrong

Fluffy comfort for tired feet and weary souls
When we first launched these rugs, it was the pop of colour that attracted attention from people walking past our store.
But beyond a statement piece, we searched for the perfect rug that could fit everywhere: by the door, under your work desk, by your bedside, or along the hallway. It is fluffy and comfortable, doesn’t trap dust easily (great for sensitive skin and pets), absorbent (so you can step out of the shower comfortably), and machine-washable (pop it in for a quick wash and it’ll dry in a few hours).
The rugs have weathered months of daily wear and tear, weekly washes, and doubling up as the cats’ sofa & scratch post all-in-one. We’ve put the rugs through all the stress tests we could think of so we can confidently say they are the best rugs we’ve had. So thankful we could partner with to make this happen 🤎

Fully made with solid cherry wood and complete with 5 wooden hooks (photographs are for reference only), this charming shelf will certainly be a statement piece on your wall. Unlike the usual pine wood, cherry wood boasts a warm, medium-toned brown complete with organic grain patterns that will surely catch your attention as you walk across the hallway.
For reference, it is made with the same type of wood as the Baobab Lamp. If you love running your fingers along grain patterns like we do, these shelves are perfect for you.

2024 — How has it been for you? Maybe you’ve been feeling energised and driven, or taking steady steps despite an uncertain start to the year, the winds of change already at play; or still thinking about the cheery warmth of the festive season.
For me, the goal this year is to have clarity of mind and heart. Working towards that the past couple of weeks made me understand how much weight we place on ourselves without realising, and how straightforward it could be to begin restful living.
I learnt that my morning coffee didn’t only made me feel good, but the routine of having a cup of coffee made me feel comfortable, structured the day, and set the right mood. I also do my best to start the day with a morning walk (no matter the distance) and have breakfast (granola, fruits, and the like), and dinner. I’m still working on bedtime before 12.
I’d be discouraged in the past if I couldn’t keep to habits and routines perfectly, and I certainly haven’t done it well the last two weeks — but the act of caring for yourself, your body, learning and doing what you need to keep yourself healthy and well, is a significant beginning to the year. If there was anything you’re working on, a tiny change in something you do everyday — let us know. It’ll be so encouraging for us here 🌾
A note to you —
It has been such a memorable year together. Words can’t adequately describe the feeling of meeting someone for the first time and finding out that they know of Eden Living — it’s a warm, fuzzy feeling that catches us by surprise every time. Thank you for your presence and kind words along the way, you’ve been the greatest encouragement for us.
Reflecting on the past year, I think the best way forward is to keep on doing what we love — designing for you, refining our products and processes, and building the eden community. We have so much to share with you, so stay with us, alright?
Let’s make waves together in 2024 🌊 — Cassandra, and the Eden team
Blessed Christmas from all of us, to you and your loved ones. So thankful that we can celebrate the season, share our joys, give and receive in abundance.
Amidst the holiday cheer, we’re especially thankful to remember that we have received the greatest gift of every season. We can celebrate the year, embrace moments of sadness and worry, live restfully and in peace — and we hope to embrace that even more in 2024.
Enjoy yourselves in the company of loved ones, and if you’re like us celebrating a calm, quiet weekend at home reflecting and resting — we’re here with you ✨🎄
Designing this 보자기 (bojagi) wrap brought us on a long journey — months of seoul market runs for fabric samples to find the right material and colour (of eden blue), measuring every box to determine a good size for the gift wrap, and flying to seoul to collect the gift wraps and style a shoot right before boutique fairs (reel coming up)…… what a ride.
We’re thankful for the opportunity to contribute the proceeds of this gift wrap to , who support the livelihoods of low-income women in Singapore. Thank you for supporting this cause since its soft launch this festive season, ahead of its official launch in 2024. We’re only for thoughtful, meaningful gifting.
Stay with us as we share more about the gift wrap. Meanwhile, isn’t this shade of blue lovely?
