As we are entering into college acceptance season, this is your reminder to make sure your child is a well-rounded prospective student.
Many groups I’m involved in have parents distraught over their high academically achieving student being rejected or deferred to their top school.
High GPAs, test scores, and even community service hours have become the standard. Schools want to know what you’ve done for others? Have you made an impact in your school, in your community? Do you possess skills that make you employable and able to problem solve in a team setting?
Parents: Make sure your children are engaged in student life OUTSIDE of their classrooms. Give them real-world experiences. THIS is the new “high achieving” mindset!
