Elegant and striking Le Stelle sofa designed by trailblazing Italian industrial designer and architect Mario Bellini, 1974 for B&B Italia.

Unlike most sofas which rely on a solid frame, the Stelle utilizes a balance of tension achieved through a series of minimal U-shapes tubular steel pieces with metal hinges.

The mechanism was compared by Bellini to the lightweight frame on a pair of eyeglasses. This unique feature allowed the manufacturer to easily store and ship large quantities of frames in a small area.

French designer Michel Ducaroy was standing at his bathroom sink one morning when he noticed the scrunched up aluminum tube of toothpaste. Folded in on itself like a stovepipe, Ducaroy grabbed a notebook and after a quick sketch the iconic shape was born.

Designed in 1976 by iconic French designer Michel Ducaroy to mimic fluffy clouds. One of multiple all-foam designs by Ducaroy for Ligne Roset along with the Adria, Safi, Yoko, and of course the ubiquitous Togo. All with no internal frame, instead utilizing multiple densities and proportions of polyurethane foam.
