After k*lling Wael Al Dahdouh’s wife and two children, they have also k*illed Hamza. His oldest son. The son he described as “he was all of me. The soul of my soul”. 💔
Hamza’s last post was dedicated to his father (last slide) 💔💔
This is so heartbreaking and cruel. They deserve justice, just like every other family in G*za.
The k*lling of journalists is no mistake. It’s targeted. It’s intentional.

WHAT IS RAMADAN?
Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar.
For Muslims, Ramadan is one of the most sacred and holy times of the year. During this month, muslims (except those exempt) abstain from food and drinks from dawn till sunset. This also applies to the way we behave, speak and conduct ourselves. We try to practice more patience, gratitude and self discipline during this month. We must stay away from immoral acts and bad habits such as fighting, swearing, and anything that causes harm to others or ourselves.
Our holy book, the Qur’an was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) during the month of Ramadan. The Qur’an is a direct word of God and we strive to learn from it and read it as much as possible during this month. Ramadan is also referred to as “The month of the Qur’an”.
Fasting is one of the 5 pillars of islam which are the basis of our faith. It helps muslims attain taqwa or piety, and learn to not act on impulse desires, but to learn to control them and act in a way that is pleasing to Allah (God). We learn to control our hunger and thirst, which is something so intrinsic for human beings to sustain life, but we show that we can give that up for the sake of Allah. This in turn shows us that if we can control our most primary needs and urges, we can let go of other things in our life which aren't good for our soul and are displeasing to Allah. It helps strengthen discipline, causes us to reflect and shows our dedication to our Creator.
This month is also a time for inner reflection of our character and who we are as Muslims. It is a time to devote ourselves to God and form a close connection with him that will hopefully last throughout the rest of the year as well.
Muslims all around the world will wake up for Suhoor which is the meal eaten before dawn or the first prayer Fajr. This is a highly recommended act and is full of blessings as we are supposed to nourish our bodies for the day of fasting ahead of us.
We break our fast with dates because that is what our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) did and we follow him in that tradition. It is also great for your health so win-win!

2 tbsp zest - 2 large lemons
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup neutral oil (any oil without much flavour or smell)
2 tbsp lemon juice
2-3 tsp lemon extract
3/4 cup plain yogurt
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
1.5 cups AP flour
SYRUP
Around 2 tbsp lemon juice
1.5 tbsp sugar
ICING
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tbsp milk
1 tbsp lemon juice
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Rub together the sugar and lemon zest for 3-5 minutes.
2. Now beat together the lemony sugar and eggs together for about 2 minutes until light and airy. Add in the lemon juice and lemon extract. Add in the oil Add in the yogurt and mix until combined
3. In a small bowl whisk the flour, baking soda ,baking power and salt.
4. Add 1/2 into the wet ingredients and incorporate it together. Add in the rest and mix until just combined.
5. Bake at 350 in 9x5 loaf pan for about 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few crumbs (if you have a dark pan, bake at 325 because the pan retains more heat) it should be springy to the touch
6. During this time make the lemon simple syrup by combine the two ingredients and cooking it until the sugar has dissolved and it comes to a boil
7. Take the cake out of the pan and brush liberally with lemon syrup
8. Make the icing with powdered sugar, lemon juice and milk.
9. Let the cake cool and pour icing and spread on it.
10. Enjoy and let me know how it was!!!
