Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS), Jumla, Nepal in collaboration with Massachusetts General Hospital, Department of Psychiatry, Boston, USA is organizing The First International Community Mental Health Conference. The conference is scheduled for 4-5 May, 2024 with theme titled “INNOVATION AND COLLABORATION FOR MENTAL HEALTH FOR ALL” at KAHS, Jumla, Nepal.
The conference aims to bring diverse group of international and national mental health professionals, experts, advocates, students and community stakeholders together to share valuable perspectives on global mental health challenges, accessibility and collaborative efforts to enhance mental well-being.
Being an organizing partner of the conference, Nepal Health Corps (NHC) urges interested participants to complete their registration soon.

We are happy to announce the successful completion of the "Walk the Talk" event organised by Nepal Medical Student's society:LMC in collaboration with Nepal Health Corps:LMC for raising awareness for Tuberculosis under the Presidency of Mr Pawan Bhusal.

The Nepal Medical Student's Society: LMC, in collaboration with Nepal Health Corps: LMC, successfully conducted an "Interactive session: on coping in Medical School" for the 16th batch students. The main objective of the program was to address their queries related to life in Medical School, foster good relationships between seniors and juniors of LMCTH, and guide the juniors on their journey in Medical school.

Today, the NHC-LMCTH held an enlightening introductory session on Cleft Lip and Palate screening and referrals to Bayodha Hospital for reconstructive surgery. We were joined by Dr. Rosni Gautam, representing the SEWA FOUNDATION. This session proved to be exceptionally informative and engaging, as many of us had never encountered such specialized screening procedures before.

The transformative impact of reconstructive surgery for cleft palates and lips was well described during the session. This surgery has the power to profoundly change the lives of both patients and their families by restoring a fundamental aspect of social life: the ability to smile. Tomorrow, starting from Bhadra 28, the screening program will be conducted until Asoj 8 at various health posts across Kapilvastu District. We are enthusiastic about our commitment to actively participate and contribute as much as we can during this initiative.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Mahendra Pandey for reaching out to us, and we also express our deep appreciation to the Sewa Foundation and Dr. Rosni Gautam for affording us the opportunity to contribute to society. Life gains meaning when we give back to the society that has supported us since our childhood.

Nepal Health Corps LMC organized Project Cervicare: a health camp that included free Cervical Pap Smear Sampling of 97 patients in-need, providing free OBGYN clinic and necessary medications that served more than 300 patients, teaching young women to make homemade menstrual pads, and raising awareness of the importance of Iron supplementation during menstruation in the school going age, at Pokharathok Health Post. It could not have been possible without the support and leadership of Lumbini Medical College, Mahila Utthan Samanwaya Samiti Bagnaskali ward no. 2, Bagnaskali Ward no 2, Bagnaskali Gaupalika, and Pokharathok Health Post, Anusmaran Foundation Time Pharmaceuticals Pvt.
