The 2022 World Scientific Congress of Golf is now welcoming submissions and is currently accepting submissions for workshops and individual abstract submission. Deadline for submissions is March 30, 2022. While we do not anticipate any extensions, we will have a late-breaking call for abstracts during the month of June for late-breaking abstracts for which no preliminary data were available at the time of March 30, 2022 (the abstract submission deadline).
Our goal is to spark conversation and debate and inspire innovation and collaboration across the multiple disciplines within the sport of golf. Due to the ongoing global pandemic, we understand that data collection and research has been challenging over the last few years. We welcome recently published studies, pilot data, case studies, theoretical and model-based work, etc. to provide everyone an opportunity to fully participate in the Congress.

A couple of bits of news for our followers. Number 1: we're pleased to announce that almost all of the papers from the World Scientific Congress of Golf IX in Vancouver, Canada, 2018 are up on our website for free download. We're hoping to have the complete set in the next couple of weeks. To access, just go to www.golfscience.org/abstracts Number 2, and just as exciting, is that the same group of 12 golf science researchers as our previous post have come together again for another 2 hour video discussion. This one is entirely on the topic of the forces and torques during the downswing and in particular the "negative couple" just before impact. If you want access to that discussion, the format is the same as before. Make a $25 donation at https://www.golfscience.org/donate-to-golf-science/ and you will be emailed the link and password by the video organizer Michael Finney - thanks to Mike once again!
golfscience.org We’re delighted to be able to make available the full line-up of talks at the 2018 conference along with most of the submitted abstracts. Please find the list below, with live links to the abstracts we have. Note: we’ll be adding the abstracts a few at a time until we have all of them uploaded. ...
Hello everyone, we're excited to have some great content for lovers of golf swing mechanics. On April 14th 2020 Mike Finney organized a facilitated research discussion on the golf swing – with the help of Jon Hardesty, Chris Taylor, Chris Como, Grant Waite and the Zoom video conferencing platform.
This video is 3.5 hours long and covers six topics that touch on a wide spectrum of ideas and concepts. It is NOT a “how to” video for instructors or golf students. This get together was created to allow some of the most respected researchers in the golf industry to, in essence, “talk shop” and share ideas on how they approach research and how they interpret the data that the research produces.
HERE’S HOW TO GET THE VIDEO
Mike generously decided to donate all proceeds from the sale of this video to Golf Science! If you would like to see the entire conference, please go to: https://www.golfscience.org/donate-to-golf-science/
This link will take you to the World Scientific Congress of Golf website and the “donate to golf science” button. We are asking for a minimum donation of $25 in order to receive the link to the video. Make sure when you donate that you put in your email address correctly so we can send you the Vimeo link and password promptly. The donations can be made by credit card or PayPal.

Origin of the World Scientific Congress of Golf
Hello all. I wanted to share a (poorly edited) clip of co-founder Martin Farrally explaining how the original idea for the World Scientific Congress of Golf came about. I'm hoping to make a few more clips of Martin and Alastair talking Golf Science in the next few weeks.
Just super cool to get a chance to hang out with the founders of the WSCG last week - Alastair Cochran and Martin Farrally. I got about an hour of video while we chatted about the origins of the conference, the history of the first 20 years and even a bit about how the Search for the Perfect Swing all game about. My favourite comment from Alastair was “this whole thing about the golf ball going too far has been coming and going since the late 1800s. I have magazines from about 1900 complaining how courses will
be obsoleted by the new golf ball.” Stay tuned for an updated history section of the website and maybe a few video clips.
