🫀 Fascia is a thin connective tissue which surrounds, supports and holds every muscle, bone, organ, blood vessel and nerve fibre in place. Fascia also had nerves, which make it almost as sensitive as skin. When fascia is not in good condition, it can be from tightness or dehydration of the connective tissue. In the first video clip above, I am demonstrating what the fascia looks like when it is tight/dehydrated. The skin rolls were quite stiff and defined, rather than how we would like them to be (soft and supple). To loosen the fascia, I used a petrissage technique called shaking which can be seen in the second video. #massagetherapy #fascia #equinemassage #equinemassagetherapist #vetphysiostudent #equinephysiotherapy #horses
