SVAC members have been watching the unfolding of events at Uconn take a path similar to the events of fall semester here at UNH. We are disappointed but not surprised to learn of the disfunction of the Uconn system in regards to handling interpersonal violence. To the students and survivors at Uconn: we see you and we stand with you.
Hi and welcome to the official page for the Sexual Violence Action Committee of New Hampshire! In October of 2021, students at the University of New Hampshire formed SVAC in response to frustration and dissatisfaction with how the university was handling sexual assault cases. We have met with university leaders, hosted protests, and spent time discussing ways universities can "Be proactive, not reactive." We hope anyone visiting this page will feel called to help us create a safer learning environment in New Hampshire's higher education systems and a more supportive university system for survivors of assault and interpersonal violence.
