A dental friend posed the question: what have you done with the new found commodity of TIME. .
It got me thinking, I’ve loved cooking but I’ve been shooing my kids (4 & 1 yo) out of the kitchen while I do it so I can make the meal “perfect”! .

So today, I let go and allowed my 4yo to “rough chop” and I just left it be! Surprise to not many, the recipe still tasted great, rough chop and all. And we had a great time cooking it. .

Have you become familiar with the new TSDBE amendments? One that caught my eye: •Must complete full treatment of one patient before leaving treatment room and going to second patient.•

What does this mean for workflow in a post-Covid19 dental office?


How does Solea help you be compliant: As you block patients, what will you do for the 10-15 minutes that it takes a patient to get numb? You can no longer run multiple columns, or run to check a hygiene patient as you did Pre Covid. The result is idle time that you will be sitting and waiting. If your office owned Solea, your treatments would be done before others without a Solea would even be able to get to work. I thought that these workflow changes would be implemented by some, but not put in writing by the TSDBE. Solea offices will be atleast twice as productive on direct restorative, and direct restorative is one of the highest volume procedures that an office treats daily. This added mandate further enhances the value of same day dentistry with Solea via treatment out of hygiene or multi-quads without cross blocking.

So many counterfeit PPE items are popping up. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. The CDC has published a good article to help identify counterfeit items. I know PPE is limited at the moment, but this is not the solution.

Patterson is working hard every day to secure PPE for our customers. I am working diligently for my offices to alert them when the items they need are stocked. Please reach out if you need help monitoring this.
