Such beauty.
Thank you, God.
I love my new friends.
Words cannot describe their beauty—this community of Slavic women in Missouri that welcomed me into their hearts along with the inquisitive One. The Unseen Feast was made available to all, and feast we did.
This woman of words has none to wrap around a moment such as this.

It’s Saint Patrick’s week. We remind ourselves that Christ’s presence encircles. We are NEVER alone.
“Until the day break and the shadows flee away”
So needed. The care of a soul, treasured by her Father. Fishing for me is an investment in and invitation to solitude and silence.
Now all I need is FISH.
Luke 5:7???
My friend sent this to me. It reminded us of Chapter 9 in , the metaphor of healing in sheep-shearing, and Jesus’ question: DO YOU WANT TO BE WELL?
“Imprisoned with abundance. Disabled by warmth. Sick with wool...We all, like sheep, are sick with wool. We’re simply drowning in what ails us” (p. 180-81).

This breakdown by Dallas Willard is both helpful and challenging.
A lesson from the dirt today.
God wants to be the pebble in my shoe. He wants—with every step I take, every placing of my foot—to be remembered, felt, known. His is both a sharp kindness and kind sharpness.
I thoroughly enjoyed all four conversations for this series. Jesus’ questions provoke such rich exploration. Thank you, Dr. Gabriel Etzel
Jesus stayed with us today. If we asked him to look away, he still stayed. If we forgot all about him, he stayed. If we were confused or bored or frustrated with the kids, he stayed. If we went to anything else for life, he stayed.
Basically, he stayed all day.
He’s a Stayer.
Really enjoyed discussing Part III of :

Low lie the bounding heart, the teeming brain

God, I want to give You every minute of this year.
I shall try to keep You in mind every moment of my waking hours…
I shall try to let You be the speaker and direct every word.
I shall try to let You direct my acts.
I shall try to learn Your language.

This question is brilliant, disruptive, and ever so kind. He’s asking—and He waits.

said of Frederick Buechner, in Munroe’s book Reading Buechner
Could also be said of Another.
“You cannot drift into a life of constant companionship with Jesus any more than you can drift into marriage.”
—Dallas Willard
I must make the decision to do this.
Daily. Moment by moment. I pledge myself to Jesus.
I am utterly resolved.
This Flower, whose fragrance tender
With sweetness fills the air,
Dispels with glorious splendor
The darkness everywhere.
True man, yet very God,
From sin and death He saves us
And lightens every load

I am so thankful for this kind Amazon review. Praying over each and every reader—that we might receive his questions ever deeper into our hearts, and that the questions themselves would be the road to his heart.

This hangs in our Feasting Room, reminding each Murphy that we are the delight of the good and loving Godhead. Inexplicable, fathomless chesed is the banner over us.
Sabbath JOY
Look what St Nicholas left this Celtic pilgrim in her boot last night!
He gets me.
A question Jesus is offering me today (Mark 2:8). Perhaps it is for you, too.
“What,” he asks, “are you thinking in your hearts?”
