I have taken some time to educate myself and really lean into everything happening in Palestine. My heart goes out to all those who are experiencing such immense loss and travesty. It is humbling to realize our country has been funding a war and that many of our people in office are in support of what's happening.

I know seeing all of this content and hearing these accounts is a lot for our human brains and hearts. I am going to be making a podcast episode/video about this and ways we can take care of ourselves while also finding community and doing what we can to help these crises of the world.

I'm sending love to everyone right now, I know this isn't easy and I also am aware that it feels like our world is crumbling and we are sitting by feeling powerless about everything going on. I'm right there with you, but I think it's so important we find practices to keep our hearts open so that we don't close off in times of darkness.

If you want to let your voice be heard, we can call our representatives and let them know we don't like our tax dollars being used towards funding a genocide. I also know it feels bleak and like it won't make a difference, especially given that US has funded Israel for many years. I think all we can do is try our best, whatever that may look like for each of us, and be willing to fight for a world we believe in.

sometimes we just need that little push to give us inspiration to do big scary things. I have been really introspective this year especially after going through life-changing, uncomfortable stuff. I have felt like my creativity was exhausted and that I was trying to force a lot of stuff. I've also been learning to stop forcing the stuff, because if it's meant to happen, it will.. there's no need to push or rush or hurry or worry about our timelines. forcing makes it even more uncomfortable than it needs to be. we don't have to be anywhere other than where we are at 💫

fast forward to this past weekend at Wakaan Music Festival at the full moon ceremony w/ The Festival Babes and the prompt is "what have you been avoiding in your life?" and my mind just 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 I haven't done very much musically this year and I would most definitely say I was avoiding the discomfort of vulnerability and trying new things and making music. but if Wakaan has taught me anything it is that we each have this insanely magical uniqueness that only we can express. the way we communicate through art can connect people to feelings and experiences, something unique that only our expression can do. there is room for each one of us, in fact, we NEED all of us to create and do our thang.

I have always wondered if I would play tug-of-war with all my different hobbies and passions, if one would ultimately need to win out over the rest. I'm telling myself it can all be done, so I make sure to take turns and give them all some lovin'.

because I'm not just a DJ, I'm also a podcaster. I actually started my podcast a little bit before I was DJing publicly. they have always been in a double helix since conception.

while not playing shows, I tend to put energy into creating, sharing experiences, and as of recently, growing my brand and business.

EMBRACE THE MADNESS is more than just a podcast now, so it's exciting to see how far the reach can go. I believe that healing should be accessible for us all, that sharing our stories and our hearts with one another, we can build that community we are all dreaming of. when we can open up space for vulnerability and forgiveness, we discover even more magic inside this crazy world.

if I'm being completely honest, my heart has been hurting lately

seeing all the harmful legislation pass across our country, seeing what the government will and won't acknowledge, seeing the people whose lives are deeply affected by all the stuff happening, being alive in a weird ass time

I recently started a new job in Nashville teaching science clubs to elementary school kids. I was in the school about a month ago where the shooting happened covering for someone's club. I have found myself in a unique situation where I have the opportunity to guide and listen and hold space for these tiny humans during all of this. and at the same time I ask myself what in the hell is happening and why me

I have so many thoughts and feelings inside my body and heart right now and it can be so hard to open up and share when all you want to do is cry and sleep and dissociate

I also feel things tremendously anyway and add 6 months of no alcohol and I am a very sensitive little monkey these days 🙈

all this stuff happening in the world reminds me of why sharing my light and my love is so important

we are so far disconnected from each other and so many of us are suffering all the time ❤️

I just want us all to feel loved and accepted and at peace, but lately it has felt impossible and insurmountable

I just wanted to say hi and check in and let you know that I love you and I care about you

if you are going through something challenging and heartbreaking, I know it fu***ng sucks

but we will keep going. there is a light at the end of the metaphorical tunnel, I promise, somewhere

we all deserve so much love and I know it doesn't always feel that way

super honored to be a part of another year of so much love, healing, connection, and empowerment. Samantha has been an incredible host, a gracious friend, and a majestic leader in the music and healing space, and it's a privilege and honor to be able to work with her to see her vision to reality.

this fest has taught me what it means to truly embody compassion, forgiveness, healing, sanctuary, connection, and all the feminine (yin) qualities present within the human experience. it's hard as s**t sometimes to be a human, but when we work together, we can learn a lot about each other, from each other, and with each other to continue to build a future we only previously dreamed of

crossing things off my "never though would happen when moving to Nashville" bingo card 🎯🎰🃏

slowly I am crawling out of the mini-depression I have been feeling after relocating from my hometown of almost 30 years. I was sad to leave Memphis, scared of the unknown, all the things.

what catapulted a lot of these feelings was walking into our newly signed lease house and finding it to be soaked, destroyed and really really wet. it was humorous at first but then realizing what was happening, that we had no more house to move into, all of our stuff into a 10'x18' storage unit.

it has been hard y'all. I didn't even want to THINK about it for weeks lmao. it took a lot. about week 3 is when I finally felt like I could move out of my slump and start to figure things out. be on the lookout for a podcast 🤣🤣🤣🤣

we have been saved by the grace of God and all of the near dear Nashvillians surrounding us ❤️ we are so grateful and thankful to have ppl in our dark times. we were blessed to have help leaving Memphis and coming into Nashville 💖 thank y'all for everything.

UMMMM THE COOLEST PART OF THIS.. I was sad I wasn't gonna get to see in Memphis at Black Lodge (bc duh!!!) but I actually got to meet and chat with him at the Nashville stop.
