This book is not just about Fredrick Jerome Agee. He grew up on the New Jersey Shore in a town called Red Bank. He attended Red Bank Regional High School and started as a middle linebacker, which culminated in him becoming the defensive player of the year; co-captain of the Red Bank Regional Buccaneers, three-year undefeated Central New Jersey State Championship Football team; and vice president of his senior class in 1976. Affectionately known as Jerry, he was blessed with two hardworking parents, two brothers who were both outstanding athletes, and a host of aunts, uncles, and neighbors who shaped and had a significant impact in his life.
