Failing is fabulous. We must stop making it mean something dramatic about ourselves. Every great invention has come off the heals of perpetual “failing.” Every failure is simply new information on what isn’t working. It’s a learning lesson that paves the way to success. Keep going.

Life Coaching? Podcasting? Uh, Why?
Pull up a chair and I will tell you. If you know me, you know I’ve tried my hand at a lot of different things through out the years. Talk show producer, television and film producer, screenwriter, Co-Founder of From Fat to Finish Line (which still is operational), producer in the marketing and DRTV world (which I still currently do). So at 47, what’s with the life coach and podcasting thing?
Well, it’s like this. My whole life I’ve been known for having a few traits: I am extremely empathetic, I love talking about how to overcome s**t and get better, I’m a sucker for motivational books, speakers, inspirational podcasts, famous life coaches, and trying to learn how to live a little better. Even my drive to work for Montel Williams back in 1994 was because I was (perhaps naively) attracted to what I viewed as the ‘positive’ side of talk shows - helping people. In fact one of my earliest jobs in the talk show industry was launching an aftercare wellness program for guests to get services after the show). I’ve always liked the idea of helping people in some way. And I’ve always been a story teller.
I’ve also struggled with my own battles of being overweight and giving up unhealthy habits like smoking ci******es and over drinking. I still battle and work on depression, negative thinking and a general “f**k it” attitude. I struggle with self-image, insecurity... oh, just a whole mess of bulls**t. But I believe all of these struggles help to make me the empathetic, self-help seeker that I am and I’m pretty sure I’m not alone. When I’m podcasting a message about motivation or how to overcome negative thinking, it’s not only (hopefully) inspiring and helping someone else out but it’s also supporting my own healthy aspirations. I am talking my truth. The subjects and techniques I talk about on the podcast or in my coaching practice aren’t just ideas in a book to me, they are tools I’ve used to overcome my own s**t in my life. But all tools get rusty if you don’t use them - coaching whether with a client or through podcasting helps me to keep all the tools in good working order.
I have found a passion in this. Do you know the cliche, “Do what you love and it will never be work”? Well, I am finally understanding what that means.
