NSB No One Stays Behind Final Multiplier Event, hosted by its coordinator EPATV - Escola Profissional Amar Terra Verde, was a success! 🎉

📍More than 130 participants (online and in person) attended this event and were able to share with all project partners the enthusiasm of finalising such relevant project for the VET sector, with a set of innovative and interactive results aimed at Teachers, Students, Mentors and key stakeholders, that harness the use of methodology for increasing the quality of the learning and teaching processes.

✅ After the initial technical issues were solved, the event moved on with interesting interventions from speakers and from NSB partners, who talked about the relevance of the project for decreasing the early dropout rates and increase the value and quality of VET, the importance of the STEAM methodology applied to training practices, and presented, one by one, all the results achieved in NSB!

At the end, all participants went home with a clear vision about NSB and how the use of its results can contribute for they training and learning journey, and NSB partners attending the session in person gathered for the last family picture of the day 📸👏👏

Therefore, SERŠ Maribor arranged for its students to visit the VEGA supercomputer! 👩‍💻🧠👨‍💻

🔭 is a driver of innovation that helps Europe competing globally in strategic areas such as Artificial Intelligence, advanced data analytics (HPDA), personalised medicine, bioengineering, on the fight against climate change and the in the development of medicines and new materials 💡

The project titled "Upgrading National Research Infrastructures" (HPC RIVR) aims at establishing a national supercomputing centre with the main goal of strengthening national high-performance computing capacities.
👩‍🔬👨‍💼Thus, during this study visit, students were presented with different types of research and development in the computer science industry in Slovenia and Europe.

Introducing similar topics allows students to engage as creators, explorers, and innovators and learn that their ideas matter! 🙋‍♀️🙋
They see themselves belonging in STEAM and Computer Science careers, and also develop engineering and Computer Science problem-solving skills needed across all career fields.

📖One of NSB No One Stays Behind project results to be publicly available is an e-book titled “The role of the Mentor… in 1 minute!”, which will provide relevant information to those interested in knowing more about the relevance of Mentors on students' learning process and on how to become a Mentor.

👩‍🏫🧑‍🏫In this spirit, NSB partner Antalya Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi and Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly prepared a and training program, which was provided to five groups of four volunteer students from five different businesses.

✅The program aimed to train qualified people who can use the knowledge and skills demanded in the commercial environment for the benefit of the business and to equip people with the features required by the rapid change in the economy ♻️💻

👩‍🎓🧑‍🎓As another academic year is coming to an end, has published an article in its concerning the activities in which the Cypriot NSB No One Stays Behind team has been involved throughout the year, in connection with the project 🌐🌀

📌Particular emphasis was laid on the fact that Gymnasio Episkopis hosted the 2nd NSB Learning Activity for all partners, in November 2023, which was the first time the school has hosted such event since it was founded!

📲💻Similarly, relevant pictures and a brief overview of the project have been posted on the school website, not only as a way to promote NSB project, but also to raise awareness for its results and outcomes, which are fully aligned with the for an improved learning experience for students ✅

🆒Antalya Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi has been very busy these couple of weeks, with:
✅ The 2023-2024 closing ceremony for the graduating students (some of which were deeply involved in the piloting of some of NSB No One Stays Behind results, aimed to foster the inclusion of methodology in training and learning processes as a way to prevent early school leaving and to promote )🎊 👩‍🎓👨‍🎓
✅ Realisation of inter-departmental football and volleyball tournaments, organized in order to increase the and to foster cohesion between students and teachers from the Electrical and Electronics fields 🙋‍♀️⚽️🏐🙋
✅ Presentation of the school and of its educational offer to 50 secondary school students, among the 1000 students from across Antalya that the Antalya Anatolian Vocational and Technical High School hosts every year, looking for an opportunity to shape their futures 🆙

📌Between May 13th and 17th, all NSB No One Stays Behind partners were gathered in Antalya (TR), hosted by the Antalya Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi, for the last Learning Activity of the project.
It was a full and fruitful week for all as partners had the opportunity to participate in several workshops focused on the topics addressed by NSB:
👉 applied to training;
👉Mentoring Services and their impact on learners’ motivation as a way of preventing early school dropout and with coping with the Not in Education, Employment, or Training ( ) phenomena.

✅Moreover, NSB partners also had time to visit the School, to talk with its Teachers and Learners, and to explore the Turkish VET system and its connection to the labour market, in addition to cultural visits that allowed them to know a bit more about Antalya’s and Türkiye’s histories 🌐

💠Last but not the least, all partners were invited by the Antalya Provincial Directorate of National Education to attend the session “Erasmus+ Vocational Education Accreditation from the European Perspective and the Importance of Cooperation for Increasing Quality and Standardization in Vocational Education”, where Susana Nogueira (EfVET) was speaker.
👩‍💼In this session, NSB was presented to the whole audience, composed of 60 VET Teachers coming from schools across the Antalya Province, as an example of a successful Erasmus+ funded project and consortium.

📣A very special week for NSB No One Stays Behind as all partners are gathered in Antalya Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi for the last Learning Activity of the project!

Until Friday, partners will have the chance to learn more about how mentoring services work at the Turkish partner school through its students, will participate on multiple workshops about the and will attend a Conference focused on the relevance of Accreditation process for the quality and standardisation of 💡

🆒SERŠ Maribor continues to engage its students on a multitude of activities that allow them to explore different areas, from the perspective of achieving key transversal competences (e.g. innovation, critical thinking and problem solving, or ICT competences), in line with the !

This Slovenian NSB No One Stays Behind partner organised a series of initiatives in the last month, including:
✅A workshop for primary school children in , titled "Artificial vision". In this initiative, students had the chance to learn about AI and computer learning software (WEKA), and how to distinguish between different characters (artificial vision);
✅Presentation to students of innovative, critical and problem-solving ways of thinking during a visit to Inova IT Company and to its team of engineers, designers and artists who research, design and develop mobile solutions.

💡📺Moreover, SERŠ also has an active student company dealing with current issues, including processing old screens, to produce Retrocase housing. Two students, with the help of professors, managed to find a procedure on how to turn an LCD screen into a transparent one and use it as an additional monitor that will be integrated into the computer case. Their product also contributes to the circular economy, as it is made of worn-out screens and housings – Learning by doing and being resourceful.♻️🌐

💠 These are definitely examples of activities that schools can implement as well to increase to learn through STEAM 👩‍🎓🧑‍🎓

🆒NSB No One Stays Behind result “The Role of the Mentor... in 1 minute” e-book has been finalised! 📲💻

✳️Before it is available to the public, Υπουργείο Παιδείας, Αθλητισμού και Νεολαίας Episkopi Secondary School (the Cypriot partner of the project, responsible for the development of this e-book, with support from and all remaining partners) presented it to all school students and to their parents, as well as to all people who play a significant role in the communities from where they come from! 👩‍🎓🧑‍🎓

🎯The presentation took place during a school event, where students who attend Episkopi Secondary School exhibited the work they have produced throughout the school year in several subjects such as History, Science and Art.📖🧪🎨👇

🌐The NSB No One Stays Behind Partners' Meeting hosted by the Italian partner is on the news!

🇮🇹 ℹ️ An article on a Catania local newspaper focused on NSB was published recently, providing information about NSB Transnational Partners’ Meeting, held between March 4th and 6th 2024, and about the fact that IIS Concetto Marchesi was the host of this meeting that gathered all partners from Belgium, Cyprus, Portugal, Slovenia and Turkey and was so important for the development of the project’s outcomes and results.

📰In this article (written in IT), all the meeting’s activities and main achievements are described, as it was one of the highest moments for IIS Concetto Marchesi in the sense that being part of NSB confirms the school’s European vocation and reaffirms the intentions of its motto “traditio et innovation” (tradition and innovation).🆒

🇪🇺 The continuous research and involvement of European schools in the dissemination of projects are a constant stimuli of the strong European vocation of the IIS 'Concetto Marchesi' in Mascalucia, which places citizenship competence development and inclusion enhancement as instruments of dialogue among people at the core of educational activities.

🆕Antalya Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi, NSB No One Stays Behind Turkish partners, are developing the project's Evaluation Platform (NSB Result 4), after its beta version was presented to all partners at the Transnational Partners' Meeting in Catania, Sicily (IT), last month.

💻This online Evaluation Platform was designed to provide information about NSB project, to explain the four NSB Results and their purpose, and to evaluate each of those Results to understand their usability in real VET contexts, with students and teachers, and their efficiency to prevent early dropouts from school and to promote teachers' capacitation to use STEAM methodologies in education and training 👩‍🏫🧑‍🏫

NSB Evaluation Platform includes:
✅Project Results and their evaluation;
✅Draft/template of educational programs for extracurricular activities and evaluation, which teachers/educators can use;
✅Surveys and assessment information that teachers/educators can apply to students.

🆒At SERŠ Maribor, the dissemination of the NSB No One Stays Behind project was once again carried out successfully at the school’s annual Open-Door Event, a two-days event carried out in February.
🙋‍♀️The Open-Door Event was attended by students and adults from the local community and rural areas near Slovenian town of Maribor, and many attendees were primary school pupils who are planning to attend SERŠ Maribor next year 🙋

✅SERŠ Maribor NSB team took this opportunity to promote the project’s progress - the development of the digital tool (NSB App) and implementation of STEAM activities in school's process.

🔝SERŠ engages with many activities focused on reducing the number of drop-out students, and the innovative digital tool that is being created in NSB will be perfect, especially for the students with low or no motivation for schoolwork. ❇️

📌NSB No One Stays Behind project partner Episkopi Secondary School is leading the development of the “The Role of the Mentor... in 1 minute” e-book, one of the project’s results to become available soon.

As has lately been working on the final touches of this e-book, the members of the project’s Cypriot team presented the work they have produced to their fellow school teachers and students, as a way to engage them with NSB and with its initiatives and expected outcomes!

👩‍🏫The e-book was initially presented to teachers during a staff meeting where a lot of emphasis was laid on how teachers/educators can act as Mentors both for their students and younger, less-experienced colleagues. This presentation also highlighted the benefits that such relationships have to offer to mentees and mentors alike.

🧑‍🎓Then the e-book was presented to students, aiming to offer them a better understanding of the work that Gymnasio Episkopis has been doing to contribute to the success of NSB and of its expected results.

🌐NSB No One Stays Behind gave a step further into the development of the final results of the project on its 2nd Transnational Partners' Meeting, hosted by the Italian partner , in Catania, Sicily!
For three days (March 6th to 8th), partners made an overview of the process of:
📍 Finalising the NSB App for Android and IOS for students and teachers (which is being developed with support from students to ensure the App's usability);
📍 Fine-tunning the final design of the e - Book "The role of Mentor" (to ensure it provides all necessary information on how to become a Mentor in an appealing way);
📍 Fine-tunning the online platform that will allow to manage the usability of NSB results by their end-users - students and teachers.

📅The next time NSB partners will be together again will be in Antalya (TR), for a Staff Learning and Training activity hosted by Antalya Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi, between May 13th and 17th!

Until then, they will continue working to address the early school leaving phenomena by fostering the motivation of to continue their learning path, and capacitating teachers to use methodologies for this purpose 💪

📆Between March 4th and 6th, IIS "Concetto Marchesi" of Mascalucia will host the second NSB No One Stays Behind Transnational Partners Meeting.
The Italian NSB partner has a long lasting European vocation and, with this meeting, it reaffirms the intentions of IIS "Concetto Marchesi" motto "traditio et innovatio".

🙌IIS "Concetto Marchesi" team responsible for Erasmus+ projects and involved in the project will welcome all partners with a ceremony sponsored by the school's Headmistress, Professor Lucia Maria Sciuto.
During these three days of meeting, partners will be able to make an overview of the work done so far, coordinated by EPATV - Escola Profissional Amar Terra Verde:
✅ SERŠ Maribor (Slovenian partners) will illustrate NSB App for Android and IOS, sharing operational possibilities for students and teachers,
✅ (Cypriot partners) will present the final version of the e - Book "The role of Mentor", aimed at providing a comprehensive description of how to become a Mentor;
✅ Antalya Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi (Turkish partners) will provide more details about the online platform aimed to manage the usability of the project results;
✅ EfVET will present the results of all dissemination activities conducted so far by partners, and the next steps to take for the development of the next communication materials, to be used in the Final Conference of the project, scheduled for June, in Vila Verde, Portugal.

👩‍💼SERŠ Maribor Team presented NSB No One Stays Behind project results' development and the project's progress at the Teachers' Conference, in January 2024!

🦾In parallel with this presentation, SERŠ Maribor students participated in a collection campaign of used appliances, including old radios, TVs and computers. Those appliances were reviewed by the project organizers with the help of project partners and given a new life. This activity allowed students to learn about the circular economy, which is an economy where production and consumption are based on sharing, reusing, repairing, renovating, and recycling existing materials and products for as long as possible ♻️

📣SERŠ Maribor Team is currently finalising NSB app, intended especially for students to track learning and progress. The app is already available online for Androids and for Apple devices📲

📅 At the time being, SERŠ Maribor Team is preparing for the Open Doors Event, on 16th and 17th of February, where NSB project’s results will be presented to the broader public, at local and national levels!

NSB No One Stays Behind partners met online today for an overview of the activities conducted so far, and to plan the next steps towards the completion of the project's results:

➡ App for Android and IOS aimed at students, to self-assess their own skills worked in different Workshops;

➡ e-Book "The Role of the Mentor... in 1 Minute", a flipbook aimed at those interested in becoming Mentors, with relevant information about the role and activities of a Mentor, based on national and European perspectives;

➡ Digital guide "Summer School... Manual", that provides suggestions of and non-formal activities that can be implemented by all interested VET schools in Summer Schools as a way to promote ;

➡ Evaluation management platform, aimed at measuring the usability of all NSB project results, ensuring their quality, and to assess their sustainability beyond the project.

All these results are currently on their finalisation phase, and will be addressed in the next Partners' Meeting, hosted by , in Mascalucia, Sicily (IT), between March 04th and 6th 🔜

👋 conducted an “Open Day” last January 13th, opening its doors to welcome new enrolled students with their families for the next school year.

👩‍🎓After a general presentation made by IISS Concetto Marchesi Head teacher, Lucia Maria Sciuto, parents and newcomer students were divided into three different info points, according to the three courses: Humanistic, Scientific and Technical-Chemical-Environmental 👨‍🎓

📌 In each info point, the Erasmus+ coordinator, Cinzia Claudia La Rosa, illustrated and explained the multiple opportunities granted by the Erasmus+ Programme, with particular emphasis on NSB No One Stays Behind, its activities and results achieved so far.
To illustrate the information provided to students about NSB, the IISS Concetto Marchesi team prepared a leaflet to be delivered to the Open Day participants, in Italian.

🆒NSB expected digital results will be available to all school’s students in the future, to foster their motivation to study and to become successful professionals!

Antalya Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi, the Turkish NSB No One Stays Behind project partners, carried out many activities in December 2023, in accordance with the aims of the project.
Among those activities, were:
✅ Sharing of experiences between graduates and students about business life, a way of increasing their professional motivation;
✅ Seminar carried out by the school’s Alumni Association focused on how to prepare for university exams, to increase students’ motivation to continue their studies in Higher Education, after graduating;
✅ Presentation of the school and its vocational educational and training offer to roughly 1000 secondary school senior students, coming from different schools in Antalya;
✅ Mentoring support provided to students by Antalya Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School team involved in NSB project, to help them develop the required digital skills for participating in National projects.

📰Last but not the least, a Newspaper focused on NSB was prepared and shared at the school’s wall, with the purpose of present the project’s aims, expected results and media resources under Development. This Newspaper also mentioned all activities carried out at the school and abroad, in the scope of NSB.

💡During the NSB No One Stays Behind Learning Activity, hosted by , that gathered all partners in Cyprus, Maria Usenza (a teacher from the Italian partner ) proposed a lesson about " The Greek heritage in nowadays English Language", which has been repeated at the Concetto Marchesi school in some classes.

👩‍🏫The main purpose of this lesson was to raise awareness of Episkopi Secondary School’s students (and NSB partners attending it) for the value of Ancient languages as a transversal tool to understand modern languages.
Ancient languages are the bridge for the transmition of the sense of belonging to European citizens. For instance, specific languages (scientific, computer science, etc...) create new words from Greek and Latin prefixes and suffixes. Scientific and technological research constantly evolves and uses the cultural background of Ancient languages to give a name to the changes 💻🧬
In particular, for Cypriot students, recognizing Ancient Greek as a transversal tool for modern scientific languages is a stimulus for a more effective study.
In general, in neo-Latin countries, it is important to strengthen the study of humanistic culture not only for the sense of belonging to European civilization, but also to develop the awareness that classical languages live in the cultural heritage and still contribute today to the sectoral languages of the scientific community 🤝🕊

🆕Antalya Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi has been very busy lately!
The NSB No One Stays Behind Turkish partner:
✅ Took 250 students to the "Science Fest", organised by Antalya Kepez Municipality to improve students' scientific thinking skills and increase their professional motivation (19th to 22nd of October);
✅ Attended the Vocational Education Forum organized by the Ministry of National Education, where products made by its students were exhibited (21st and 22nd of November);
✅ Presented NSB to the participants of both events and handed out brochures with information about the school and the project📄
✅ Shared on the school's website and social media news about the NSB Learning Activity that took place in Cyprus at the begining of this month.
