EMBRACING WORK FLEXIBILITY BENEFITS BOTH | The Third Space by Maneela S 27/10/2021

"Work from home," "remote working," "work flexibility," "online working" are the most common words one is hearing during the last two years. COVID-19 made employees shift their work from onsite/in-office to online. Within a few months, this online form of working has become the "new normal." Though this remote working and work flexibility has been in practice for a long time, it has become predominant nowadays. Given these circumstances, it is the necessity of the hour to ask whether working remotely 100% is good for health, i.e., both physical and mental, can it improve mental wellness, and how it can impact a person's social interactions. This article aims to explore these questions with research backup.

EMBRACING WORK FLEXIBILITY BENEFITS BOTH | The Third Space by Maneela S Work flexibility can be defined as a form of working adopted by companies to allow their employees to work at their favorable location at favorable timings. Many companies generally adopt this for the employee and companies' wellbeing. But is it really promoting wellbeing? It's the question that nee...

26/08/2021

The world is facing multiple health challenges. From the active threats of climate change, pandemics, and growing economic disparities and inequities, mental health concerns are rising worldwide.

The Covid pandemic has crippled the economic and social landscape, impacted billions of individuals and has taken over 4.36millions of lives worldwide, and it is affecting the physical, emotion, and mental health of individuals globally.

The covid pandemic has also elevated digitalization to an extreme we never see before. Within the last 18 months, we see digital push across all countries – some are better prepared than others.

Given the rise of this digitally connected world has bought us new opportunity and has changed the way we communicate, we meet and live. It also brings new threats to mental, emotion and physical health.

I am extremely honored to co-lead and author this white paper titled” 4IR : Cyberspace Mental Wellbeing; Harnessing Science and Technology for Humanity” along with Marek Boguszewicz Zaheema Iqbal Sarmad Ali Khan Gurjot Singh Gaba Bakhtawar Pervaiz Anshula Suresh and a team of amazing contributors Mahnoor Zakir Rethabile Tsephe Ashna Mehmood Stuti Mehta Soumita Ramesh Furqan Khan Suditi Tandon

Reflexology and Why You Should Care? | By Rethabile T The Third Space dR CLB 20/07/2021

Reflexology, also known as foot zone therapy, is an alternative medical practice involving the application of pressure to specific points on the feet and hands. This is done using thumb, finger, and hand massage techniques without the use of oil or lotion. It is based on a pseudoscientific system of zones and reflex areas that purportedly reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands, with the premise that such work on the feet and hands causes a physical change to the supposedly related areas of the body.

Knowing your skin | The Third Space 14/07/2021

The skin is the largest organ in the body in terms of surface area. It is part of the immune system, acting as the first line of defense against infection. Our skin is also an organ of elimination, ridding the body of one-fourth of its toxic waste. Skin conditions are often the surface manifestation of deeper conditions such as toxins in the blood, hormonal imbalances, or nervous system or emotional stresses. Conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and acne reflect imbalance in the whole body.

Up to 25% of the body’s waste products are eliminated through the skin.

How to build Resilience | by Anshula S - The Third Space by dR CLB 14/07/2021

Resilience is perceived as a dynamic equilibrium state within which psychological, physical, spiritual elements and protective factors have reached a balance. The resilience process is attained by having a biopsychospiritual homeostasis, that is, a comfort zone when one is balanced and adapted mentally, physically, and spiritually to a group of events (Richardson, 2002).
