You Love Me 03/10/2023

I love my eyes because your own have searched deep into my soul. I love the curve of my cheeks to my chin because you have held my face in your hands. I love my hands because you have held them tight ,and kissed them softly. I love my lips because you have been my first and only kiss. I love my arms because they wrap you tightly in my love for you....

In memory of Link Jupiter 02/10/2023

He was my special companion. He loved me fierce like the feline he was. He was the softest friend and helper. He listened to my fears, and comforted me with his squeaks and purrs. Another Novel Snippet 29/09/2023

Prologue The large circular room was lit by large bronze candelabras lining the walls, and two large fires in the massive hearths on both ends. The white marble walls were marked with dancing shadows, adding to the ethereal feeling emanating from the room, palpable to anyone who could feel magic. In the center of the room was a large wooden table inlayed mother-of-pearl, forming the Great Mages’ Insignia, the infinity symbol with a north star at the center....

Novel snippet 21/09/2023

Here is a sneak peak at my current novel. “Use the power you have. Never forget the basic forms of wielding. It’s not formed into reality by emotion and logic, it comes from within you. You have the same magic as the Great God, Bůh. Use it,” said Polonius. “Annmia, you go first, conjure up something to attack your brother.”...

Hidden Beneath 18/09/2023

Others see joy bubbling out, But all I feel is a place of endless tears. Some think I am all health and contentment. But all I feel is weak, frustrated, and pain ridden. You look at me and see my young face. Internally my body feels twice its age. Aching bones and internal pain are chronic. Even if someone looks fine, You never know what they are fighting from the inside.

Song of Hal-lah 06/09/2023

Another poem from Estelle The night is clear and dark, the candles burning bright. Now the story shall begin. Hal-lah with sword in hand and dagger in boot climbed the high mountain of Kalereef. Doomed to slay all fearsome foe, he fought all creatures from Sheol. At age of twelve and ten , epic doomed was he to wander all the earth....

Chronic Migraine 04/09/2023

I long the day my head’s not aching. I long for a day standing won’t be down with vertigo. I long for a day without a hammer pounding from the inside of my brain. I long for more than a few days without throbbing eyes and ears. I long for a day without tingling, pinching ache. I long for a second, minute, hour, day week without the ache....

War Can't be the Only Way Music can be heard upon the road.It can set the march of military.Come out onto the street from your abode.See them in their stance so stationary. There is no joy or real great beauty,to have them leave from home so far away.March to the sound of drums and duty,...

Love 01/09/2023

It is normal to love so deeply? It is normal to ache for him? I’m away from you and my soul is crying. I’m with you and my soul sings. I long to feel you near me every night. I long to see you every day. You have been brought to me. I must wait until he is all mine.

Ocean of Tears 28/08/2023

You collect every tear, all my tears have formed an ocean. Somehow You contain that ocean in Your hands. I’ve created an ocean of tears. It’s filled of many gripping fears. You’ve collected each drop into Your reservoir. I’ve created an ocean of tears. I’ve drenched my clothes with soaking salty tears, drowning me in the giant surf. I can’t swim back to the wharf; the waves are blocking all my sight....

Orchestra of the Earth 26/08/2023

The golden lining of the sun Upon the trees brings glory to his name. It is a glimpse too brief of the true beauty of her face. For the earth rings out to their name. The earth sings out the glory of the Creator. The sun, the moon, and the stars, all Bellow out songs of praise to their Creator....

Daydream 18/08/2023

On the shelf behind the professor were three bright red books entitled Paris, The Holy Land, and Rome. I nearly forgot what I'd come to ask....I became lost in the possibilities of where he may have visited, or the things he might know. Wow! Of all the places he could possibly have books about, those were three places my heart always has longed to see....

Sonnet of Pain* 18/08/2023

Time to go back to fighting and striving The battle is raging and blazing around. It’s time again to push for surviving When the end is near will may be found. New Tidings 10/08/2023

The New Year should come with tidings of peace, hope and joy right? After all, that is what everyone will wish on you. I remember one particular December 31st that ended with some of the gravest news I’d heard in the 17 years I had existed. Below the thick wood floor I could hear the people laughing and chattering, oblivious. My mother sat on the couch of the large robin-egg blue bedroom with me at her feet, my legs folded on the floor and my sister in the rocking chair to the right....

Linguistics 27/06/2023

I am working on a fantasy series. One of the characters, Esperanza (means hope in Spanish), is a name derived from Latin/Romance languages. I was thinking, hope is not Latin based. It is actually Saxon based! I felt intelligent for thinking of that connection. For example, Danish-- haber (hoopa), dutch-- hoop (hope), Norwegian--Hop (hope),etc. Crazy English!

Be you 23/06/2023

So much of your life is defined as trying to belong. I've always been the person that someone says, "Oh it's just Lisa. She is always in her own world. Any most of the time I was happy to be "in my own world". I always loved the song from Roger and Hammerstein's Cinderella. She is content to use her imagination....

Here is scene from my current book project. It is still in the very early stages; and this scene has been on my cloud for several years, now. 😉 “Eden, Thea. Wake up. A guest has arrived. We need your help downstairs right away.” Their father shook Eden and her younger sister out of deep sleep. Eden rolled over and tapped her sister on the shoulder....

Jimmy 20/06/2023

Another college short, and maybe something more will come? I haven't added the newer section in this post. That’s funny. Jimmy always has a clean raked walkway and cut lawn. I hope nothing is wrong. He has been my neighbor for five years now. I always see him cutting his grass and manicuring his curbside. I don’t know why he would let the once green short lawn to become a jungle in Amherst, New York....

“There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so" (Hamlet. Act II Scene 2). This line has been popping into my head a lot the past few months. Many cultures separate everything into good or evil. It is a concept that is sewn into the seams of society-examples include- Religion, Daoism (ying/yang), Christianity (saved or perishing), Islam (believer or infidel), Buddism (enlightened or striver)....

Stranger? 08/05/2023

My day all started calmly enough with a cup of fresh shredded, ginger-green tea, and the New England Journal of Medicine. I never thought I could have my life so altered ever again. The rain began to pour down, and come through my newly tiled roof. The window flew open, and a puddle of water began to form on the white oak floor....

In Westfield, NY this statue was erected in 1999 to commemorate the young girl who wrote Lincoln a letter encouraging him to grow whiskers (a beard). It is at Lincoln-Bedell Park Letter to Mr. Lincoln was a short play I wrote in college. I have always loved Abraham Lincoln and the history that surrounds him. I now live only a few towns over from where this play takes place....

Ellen 27/04/2023

The new year ticking near, I listen from my bedroom. Below is waltzing in the large parlor. Swirling dresses, elegant dancing, many guests dispersing in chatter. I am as shy as a new born foal, shaming the honor of my kin. As heir and eldest, my role romancing, mingling with Dr. and Mrs., Sir and Madame, sons, and daughters. Worrying with fear, swallowing anxiety I descend down the cascading stairs....

What do they look like…part 2 19/04/2023

Ethniel-a Kuwaiti singer, Humood Alkhudher, is how I see the kind and handsome messenger and love interest of Estelle. Jerome-Stewart Scudamore is perfect for how I imagine the great ambassador of Hal-lah. Lee-ta-Mili Avital is an Israeli actress and director. I always pictured the lady-in-waiting to Princess Ishta with dark blonde/light brown hair. And for the final character and book namesake. Estelle-Tara Emad, Egyptian model, is how I would imagine the main character. She has a youthful, but also, a regal look to her.

Circa 39 AD 14/04/2023

This short story, written for a college creative writing class, was inspired by one of my favorite historical fiction books, The Robe, by Lloyd C. Douglas. It was made into a movie in 1953, starring Jean Simmons, Richard Burton, and Victor Mature. If you like the old Hollywood epics, definitely look this up. “Diana! Where are you off to at this late hour?” Her father stopped her as she was half-way across the villa atrium....
