Found Footage Magazine issue #11: Call for papers. Deadline March 1st
"Found Footage Magazine is an independent semi-annual publication distributed worldwide, offering theoretical, analytical and informative contents related to found footage filmmaking. Found Footage Magazine accommodates a selection of articles and sections aimed at promoting the culture of recycled cinema from different approaches: monographs, academic essays, interviews, opinion pieces, film reviews, film festival reports and profiles of media products related to the eclectic universe of found footage film-making. Essays, articles, interviews and book reviews submitted to the journal, if accepted, will be published in the 2025 annual edition (issue #11).

LATERALE FILM FESTIVAL VIII - Perché non serve a niente, davvero, che tu ti tieni gli occhi spalancati
Siamo lieti di annunciare le date e il poster ufficiale dell’ottava edizione del Laterale Film Festival. Vi aspettiamo al cinema San Nicola di Cosenza nei giorni 29, 30 e 31 agosto 2024.
Lo slogan di quest’anno è ispirato a un testo di Edoardo Sanguineti, il nostro “protocollo” per mettere a fuoco visioni a occhi chiusi.
Desideriamo ringraziare per la collaborazione Kosmos Kultur Foundation, partner ufficiale di LATERALE 2024, e il Cinema Citrigno per la consueta gentilezza.

Quei tipi loschi dei Lumière non potevano prevedere che avrebbero inaugurato un genere cinematografico, il primordiale – e per certi versi insuperato – filone trenale. Peter Tscherkassky invece dà al cinema l'opera terminale del genere, l'ultima stazione: per l'audacia del montaggio, per la perspicuità dell'idea, per i movimenti da poeta ferroviario morente. Non ci potranno più essere film trenali. Il titolo mente: Train Again ha il fascino dell'ultimo esemplare.

“ABOUT THE SUR
La Sur Real is a film festival dedicated to exhibiting short films made in the Global South that propose a Decolonial reading of the territories, mainly in Abya Yala, claiming their own emancipatory knowledge. La Sur Real is looking for film creations that propose a critique of the existing relationship between the global north and south, question patriarchal white supremacy and share contexts that dismantle Western normative precepts.
With screenings in Berlin, Leipzig and Bogotá, it aims to share points of view that generate new transformative imaginaries, that stand apart from the existing normative hegemonic versions, that take up knowledge that has remained excluded, that manage to broaden the ways in which reality and therefore images are perceived; that make collective identities more flexible, that integrate the material, the nonhuman and the animal as relational, generating different ways of connecting us even with the devices associated with cinema."......
