Busy busy week in Pct2. Thanks to all the guys that make it happen they’ve been dealing with the heat, chiggers and poison ivy. We had 2 skid steers, 4 chain saws and 4 dump trucks cleaning up downed trees left from the storm last Thursday night. We also had the shedder out mowing ditches and the boom axe trimming trees. We still have several trees down and are working diligently to get them picked up. Someone dumped more trash in the ditch, I guess they thought we needed something to do. Big shout out to all the Dad’s out there holding it together and making it happen. Happy Father’s Day!!

Wow what a day, we started out early this morning wide open and kept that pace all day. I’m not sure how many downed trees we cleared out of the roadways but it took 2 skid steers, 1 backhoe, 1 excavator and 12 men all day. We’ll be back next week to pick them up. I can’t brag enough on my guys in Pct2, they’re going the extra mile with whatever is thrown their way. This week we dug out more base failures, covered up more repaired spots, overlayed another road, picked up a broken tree, filled pot holes, graded more rock and dirt roads, cut tree limbs, mowed ditches, serviced and washed equipment and cleaned up around the maintenance barn. I’d like to say a big thank you to the guys at Pct 2 it was a short but busy week. We started out Tuesday morning with a tree across the road and then had 2 trucks breakdown. I’ve always heard the saying (when the going gets tough, the tough get going) and that’s what we did this week. We cleaned up trees, dug out several base failures, overlayed several repaired spots, washed equipment, mowed, cleaned up around the shop and we finished off the week with both patch trucks out today. We have another productive week in the books. We could be more productive if we didn’t have to pick up trash that folks dump out in the road and ditches. This week we cleaned up a trash pile, installed more culverts, cleaned ditches, overlayed repair spots from last week, dug out and repaired more base failures, patched pot holes, finished overlaying another road, repaired a very dangerous intersection, graded more dirt and rock roads and mowed more ditches. We finished the week off washing the trucks and equipment and topping off fuel to be ready for next week. I want to say thank you to all of these guys for all their hard work and efforts, I really appreciate it!!! I pray everyone has a great holiday weekend and thanks again for allowing me to serve as your commissioner.

This popped up in my feed today, I remember the proud feeling I had this night. I can say since taking office January 1 I’m even more proud. Thanks again for letting me serve as your commissioner!!

Busy busy week in Pct 2, these men are going above and beyond they dug out several base failures and packed them back with base rock. They finished upgrading a dirt road into rock road, mowed, cleaned more ditches,graded rock roads and overlayed some of the repairs with oil sand.The repaired areas will be covered and packed this week for a smooth transition. We spent Friday afternoon washing equipment, mowing and w**d eating around the maintenance barn. Please, please slow down when you see these men working for their safety!!!

Another productive week in Pct 2, we had both motor graders out taking care of the rock roads, we cleaned up several downed trees, we got several of the areas where the culverts where replaced under the road covered with blacktop, cleaned more ditches, replaced culverts, mowed ditches,trimmed trees and cleaned around the maintenance barn. I appreciate these guys and their hard work and effort. Please, if you see them out slow down for their safety. Thanks again for letting me serve as your commissioner!!!

Sunny weather is here and Pct 2 is in high gear. We’ve been cleaning ditches, picking up dead trees, mowing, trimming trees, changing out culverts, stockpiling, maintaining equipment, working on dirt roads, rock roads and blacktop roads. Please when you see these men out working slow down for their safety and give them a thumbs up. Thanks again for letting me serve as your commissioner!!!

Today I had the opportunity to attend the Drug Free Greenville Kite Fly. It was really a great experience, this is the young lady I got to help today. She asked will it touch the sun?

Another productive week in Pct 2 we changed out this 72” culvert and several small ones, dug out ditches for waterflow, hauled downed trees, got some rock out on the road and we took advantage of the rain day Friday to take care of maintenance and to continue cleaning the shop. Friday was the completion of my first 3 months in office as your commissioner, I’d like to say thank you for letting me serve you!!

I was asked to write something for the Hunt County news letter, I’d like to share what I wrote.

The good Lord not only blessed Jody and I with 2 great children but with 2 great bonus children.

Posting more pics of the week. The guys where busy this week trimming trees, cleaning ditches, patching pot holes, picking up dead trees out of the ditches, unstopping culverts, unloading culverts. We took advantage of the rain day today cleaning around the shop and organizing to be more efficient and professional. A lot of the equipment got washed, serviced and repaired. We spent most of this morning picking up tires someone dumped out. I don’t want it to sound redundant, but I appreciate all the hard work and effort the guys at Pct 2 are doing. Today I swore an oath to serve to the best of my ability, this is an oath that I’m proud of and take very seriously.
