Performed this at AcoustiCafe last night with my synth babies. Created the sounds from scratch, sequenced all the parts that I'm not playing with my hand units. It was a little touch and go, sang this an octave lower than the original and I think that was a mistake, learned a lesson.
Performing "Mad World" with Debra Cook last night at Acousticafe.

I produced this video together with Liz Berlin for the "We Rock Workshop" and "We Rock Academy" of which she is the program director and creator. It was shown at the show at Mr. Smalls Theater on June 22nd.
We Rock Academy is a free recording and performance workshop for youth who have a history of or are currently receiving CYF services, led by Liz Berlin of the multi-platinum band Rusted Root and sponsored by the Allegheny County Department of Human Services.
Last night I performed a Weird Al cover for the first time at Mr Smalls. Here’s the video. 🙂
About a year ago I performed with the Mr. Smalls All Stars at Light Up Night in downtown Pittsburgh. I went from 100 people being the max number of people I've played for to around 5000 (according to the event organizer). It was so nuts that when I looked down at the keyboard at the beginning, I asked myself "what are notes and chords again?" The concert was a tribute to The Beatles. Here's a video of the performance (sound starts after the walk to the stage)
I have reached 200 followers! Thank you for your continued support. I could not have done it without each of you. 🙏🤗🎉
I was experimenting with sounds and vocals and this little snippet was interesting.
Performing Mad World (Gary Jules version of the Tears For Fears song) with Debra Cook on Monday.
I wonder if this 80's drum machine is better than my Alesis HR16? :^)
I performed something kinda special at AcoustiCafe last night. Hope you enjoy. (Use good headphones or speakers and crank it 🙂 )
A very cool drone fly through of our old stomping grounds in Chicago.
Take An Aerial Tour Of Wrigley Field Thanks To This Cool Drone Footage | Digg See Wrigley Field and the surrounding neighborhood like you've never seen it before. This is a very cool view of Wrigleyville and Chicago, if you've never been.
Here’s the host Zachary Lee with the sick burns on me after playing guitar/vocals and drums for the first time. The theme for the night was Roasting (your fellow musicians) :)
After singing and playing guitar for first time on stage I decided to give drums a try. I put the house band on the spot and just asked them to make something up on the spot. :)
I played guitar and sang (first time on stage) at last night’s AcoustiCafe. (Won’t Back Down, Tom Petty)
At last night's show, the host Zach Lee asked me and the house band to improvise "Tennessee Whiskey (Chris Stapleton)" on the spot. It really came together nicely. Check it out.

Performed "Lost Cause" by Beck last night at AcoustiCafe / Mr. Small's Funhouse. Here's a recording.
I'd been playing around with "Lost Cause" by Beck, a kind of somber, slow piano version. Meghan King Johnson and Orange G came over to jam and Orange G started playing a more uptempo banjo riff that changed the vibe of the song. This was the result.

Performing Death Cab For Cutie's "Follow You Into The Dark" with Amy Mmhmm at Monday's AcoustiCafe show.

Tried "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" (Tears For Fears) with the house band at last night's AcoustiCafe show. We hadn't played it together before. (Chopped/edited out a couple spots where we got lost). Ian Green (drums), Steve Steve (guitar), Jesse Prentiss (bass), Brad Yoder (sax).
During the Covid lockdowns, I produced a bunch of "virtual music collaboration" videos with various musicians. This was the first one - Peter Gabriel's "Washing Of The Water" with Jesse Prentiss
Playing "Wish You Were Here" (Pink Floyd) at Monday's AcoustiCafe.
On stage last night I used my “Lego synthesizer” I’d put together earlier in the day.
In order to use an iPad as a brain for synthesizer sounds I had to use a bunch of different adapters, connectors, a “USB Host/Hub” and there was no way to easily bring that tangled mess on stage. Originally, I was going to make a case out of wood but I didn’t have time so I created a quick prototype out of my kid’s legos. Now I’m thinking I’ll just keep it legos. :)
