It was such a privilege to attend The Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Foundation 2023 Awards Ceremony. I had so much fun!
Thank you New Life who visited our school this week. We got to taste some healthy food and drink options.
Our last day of school activity.
It’s always a joy to be around my students. I love ❤️ what I do. Glory be to God. Teaching is indeed a ministry ordained by God himself.
My students work from Grade 1 St. Fleur after I introduced to them a lesson on digraphs. We also practiced our phoneme identification skills at the beginning of this lesson. Practice makes perfect! It is always useful when conducting assessment to allow students to first show you what they can do in order to note where to begin with instruction for the same students.
Observing Grade 1 St. Fleur. I allowed them to complete a writing activity to make note of their writing levels.
Bahamian week at school.
There are so many talented children in our public school system. Just check out this fourth grader who crocheted 🧶 this beautiful pocket bag.
Reviewing prefixes in grade 4 Ferguson.
Samples of my students work after substituting Grade 4 Ferguson for a few days. We were reviewing what expository writing is all about and practicing writing expository pieces that display instructions. The students for this task were explaining how to plant a seed for growth.
Students visiting me in the learning room this summer term where we worked together to strengthen our numeracy and literacy appreciation.
My placement this summer term gave me the opportunity to work with small groups and host one on one sessions with students throughout the school body. I’ve had the pleasure to work with students from grades 1-5 during this term period and I am so grateful for the opportunity to do so. Here is one of our last minute lunch time review sessions for exam with a second grader. She was so enthused throughout the session and we got to sharpen the skills that she was finding difficulties in.
My first official assembly at Sadie Curtis. It was a MATH-TASTIC day! What a successful math celebration led by Mrs. O. Weir.
Substituting first grade Clarke. What an awesome bunch of children.
M.O.E Official Visit to Sadie Curtis snapshots.
I enjoyed a literacy 📖 adventure I led today with my fourth grade class. Reading and writing ✍️ becomes much more enjoyable when we learn together in the capacity that’s fits our individual learning needs. This specific fourth grade group I had, I noticed that they are visual learners and that concluded my decision to take them to the outdoors for lesson time.
Excellent
It’s preschool week . Don’t forget to check out the preschool showcase at the MOE headquarters.
