It’s back! Being a self proclaimed pottery tool ju**ie my students, last year, requested a list of items that they could share with their loved ones. Little did they know that I go big or I go home. They loved my list so much that I had to do it again this year. I added my favorites: .pottery.forms and much more! Can’t wait to share with them tonight!

This bowl was an experiment, much like a lot of my pieces are. An experiment in shape, size, and most definitely color. I made this bowl with in mind and it definitely came out better than expected. 😍😍😍 It’s a joy to make something for such an amazing cause. Looking forward to event on May 12th! Turtles! 🐢 It’s a thing in our home…we love turtles. One of my girls fell in ❤️ at 1 with turtles. So now it’s a thing…why not make some turtle pottery. A fun turtle planter which I hope will hold our string of turtle plant and a fun flower turtle.

It’s not all about throwing something on a wheel for pottery. These are made using some vintage slip cast molds. It’s exciting to step out of my box and try new things under the ceramics umbrella. Now to think of glaze combos.

Started a new sgraffito bowl today! Painted turquoise blue velvet underglaze down and waxed over it. Then used my amazing Christmas present from my awesome husband…love the L1 tool. It made carving easy and smooth!

Next step is to add black underglaze to the carving to make it pop! 🎉

A fun berry bowl in a stunning spearmint glaze. I have to say that there is something tranquil about punching the holes in berry bowls. Creating the pattern in your mind and then bringing it to life…❤️.

Two posts in one day! 😜 I haven’t thrown in my personal studio space in a long time. It’s my getaway from the noise of the world. I set out to throw 10 mugs this morning….one flopped. I would say 9 mugs in an hour was pretty good. Three of these are called for…who wants a mug???

Photos from Blooming Lotus Pottery's post 22/10/2021

The first pic is a little moon jar, it is a piece I’m very proud of, a piece that I didn’t think I would be successful at, but I blew my own mind! I love going into the studio with a challenge in mind and seeking the help of my teacher and peers. You can take a little peek in the background of what’s in production. 😉 In the second pic you’ll see I’ve got dimple cups coming soon!
