I would run 500 miles - Running Down Dementia Challenge

Cosh and I are running 500 miles between 18th April and 31st August, as part of the Running Down Dementia Challenge.

We will be running 5-6 km per day every day. We'd love our friends and family to remotely join us and post your run :-)

02/09/2020

THE END ..... and so for the final post .....

Thank you to the Spiers family, who made our lovely medals 😍

It was very tricky narrowing it down to 6 people, so tough decisions had to be made:

Highest adult mileage: Auntie Pat at 410 miles πŸ₯³πŸ₯³
Highest junior mileage: Elizabeth at 150 miles πŸ₯³πŸ₯³
Top family contribution: The Hawkins for miles and recruiting
Top Strava recruiter: Andy Bentley or Gary Ewen - I can't tell 🧐 (Andy did you get Gary involved so you get all the credit πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚)
Top general recruiter: Emma Townson πŸ₯³
Top junior recruiters: Camie and Sandy for their whole class🀩

Day 135 - The challenge is finally over 😲🀩😒πŸ₯³πŸ˜Ž with very mixed emotions and what a beautiful run we did to finish the challenge.

I ran/walked 533 miles, Cosh and Andy (AKA Team Flying Haggis) ran 503 miles and together 503 of us ran half way round the world PLUS 500 miles!!! On top of that we have raised Β£1,580.18!!

Thank you of course to today's on-going walkers and runners, including Ali and Alan, who did a 5 mile run to celebrate the end of the challenge; Debbie on her walk with the kids; the Maloneys on a family walk; the Crone's down in Wales; Mike out in Oz; Katrina, taking us to 500 miles over half way round the world; Doreen, Heather and Connie; Auntie Pat and Uncle Phil; Andrea and Andi; then the Scottish contingent (which I now think may not all be Scottish and perhaps instead some of Heather's friends but just do crazy milage anyway!!) including Greg (well done on 3 months straight running), Caroline, Jodie, John, Andy, Wendy, Joanne, Lisa, Douglas, Mandi, Alex, Mark and Jason. I started off planning for us do the milage from Land's End to John O'Groats and back and with all your help we went half way round the world!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

I have one final post to do tomorrow ... as we have 6 medals to award ... but for tonight I just want to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who has made this possible 😍😍😍

Photos from I would run 500 miles - Running Down Dementia Challenge's post 30/08/2020

Day 134 - 14 hours and 15 minutes to go.... and only £51.34 to raise £1,500 🀩🀩🀩

As for the on-going walkers and runners - we made it ..... half way round the world and a few miles more (hence the "Guess how much I love you" post....). So for the last day full day ... thank you to Auntie Kit, Auntie Pat, Uncle Phil, Tony and Dean, the Langtons, Katy, Sam, the Hawkins (especially Cora who got yet another non-Park Run PB πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³), Craig, Robin, Richard, Greg (who is only 10 days off 100 days running), Andy S, Lori, Gary, Sam, Lisa, Nikki, Douglas, Mandi, Ian, Danial, Nick, Jason, Daniel T, John and Helen. Thank you to our new runners Jacob and Aaron. I love it that we have still got people joining in, so thank you very much 🀩

Thank you also to our on-going contributors, we are only 8.9 miles off walking half way round the world 😲😲😲 Cosh and Andy (AKA Team Flying Haggis) are only 9.6 miles off completing their 500 miles, which means we are pretty much sorted πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³. Thanks today goes to Dad at the Strathmore Open; Andy and Lori doing some crazy training; Mike on another beautiful Oz beach run; Danial, who joined the Strava club πŸ™‚; Auntie Pat and Uncle Phil on their evening walk; Doreen out at midnight to support her friend who is running from Inverness to Thurso, after running with Graeme; Heather and Cora, who appear to have dropped Maple; Craig doing his usual insane miles; Andi, Andrea and Marian out on a walk; Mel escaping the madness; Katy making sure Caesar stays in the challenge πŸ˜‚ and then the dedicated Scots Greg, Jodie, John, Kath, Mikki, Alex, Mark, Ian, Danial and Jason. Thanks to everyone who have contributed so far 🀩🀩

Support I would run 500 miles in Running Down Dementia 2020 I know everyone thinks this but I really do have the best granny ever. She gave me a love for the hills, for swimming in freezing cold water and (only her) caramel shortbread. Sadly granny has dementia, so Cosh and I want to raise funds to help Alzheimer’s Research UK. So ....I will run 500 miles ...

Day 132 – πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ we did it 500 runners/walkers πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Thank you to Lucy, who was 499 and Zach, all the way over in Brisbane who took us to 500 - that is AWESOME!!! We also made it into our 10th country, Germany, thanks to Fiona and Opa 🀩

With 2 day 14 hours and 47 mins to go I am determined we can now walk half the way round the world for granny. I decided to delete the dog miles (sorry to any offended owners) and took the time to add the many, many miles from the Minlochie Campbells (Craig – you are insane) since they joined the challenge. It was pure laziness that all your miles weren't added before because you weren't in the Strava Club πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Helen also joined the Strava club and donated her miles to date. This means we only have 163 miles left .... which is just too easy ... John Anderson will probably be doing that this afternoon!

So as always, thank you to everyone who has been helping us to get to this amazing position, including Katrina and Emma who escaped for a nice long walk with the dogs; Auntie Sheelagh who went to meet the girls in the church garden; Katy and Mel, who keep me going; Brandi Jo in Texas and our Scottish runners Richard, Sam, John, Joanne, Mac, Lisa, Douglas, Daniel, Nick and John 😎😎😎

We finally have a wildlife spot again, although I am not sure if it is a real snake on the rocks that I can't see or a HUGE carved one.....?

Photos from I would run 500 miles - Running Down Dementia Challenge's post 27/08/2020

Day 131 - I was soooo excited thinking we had got to 500 and then realised I had miscalculated...... so we still need two new humans πŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺ

Thank you to Emma and Helen's daughter Amelia for their walk around Marsworth and the Tring reservoirs, looks like a beautiful spot 😍😍 and thank you for almost being our last two walkers πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Thank you also to our on-going walkers - it was another great milage day 😎😎 Thank you to Auntie Sheelagh and Evelyn; Debbie, Katy and Rachel for their pub walk; Sam, Laura, Mike; Heather, Maple and Cora; Tony; Mel and Emma and the kids; Andrea and Ronel; Auntie Pat and Uncle Phil (cute goats); mum and dad; and the serious running crew John, Joanne, Sam, Mike, Mandi, Alex, Mark, Ian, David and Jason 🀩🀩🀩

Photos from I would run 500 miles - Running Down Dementia Challenge's post 26/08/2020

Day 130 - 4 days, 11 hours and 20 minutes to go ... that really is so random ...why does it end at 1 am!!!

It has been FANTASTIC ... Heather, Gemma (**Star Recruiter** 🀩) Mel and Kat have been recruiting frantically in the background ..... so thank you to them and our new runners Amy, Helen, Katerina, Sam, Adam and Erin. Thank you also to our new walkers Faye, Alexander and Verity, on their Scarecrow Walk with Gemma, Will and Sophie; and to Mel's dad and sister down in London. I literally can't believe it - we only need 2 more humans to make it to 500 πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Ben has just finished getting the map up-to-date with everyone's photos 😎 If anyone hasn't sent one through and would like to be added - there is still time :-)

Thank you also to our on-going walkers and runners, including Laura, Heather, Maple, Cora, Auntie Pat and Uncle Phil, who I think I may have missed on yesterday's post! πŸ€ͺ Thank you also to our regulars: Greg, Caroline, Andy S, Anna, John, Andy C, Kath, Wendy, Martin and John. We have done 11,000 miles ... only 1,450 miles left to have walked half way round the world for granny 😎😎😎 ... perhaps a bit of a push in 4 days ....πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Photos from I would run 500 miles - Running Down Dementia Challenge's post 25/08/2020

Day 129 - 5 days 15 hours and 25 minutes to go and ONLY 13 HUMANS needed to make it 500 people (rather than dogs, bears and pheasants πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚) who ran or walked for Running Down Dementia ..... seriously ... how great is that!!

Our first new walker today was yet another person I forgot 😟, which is particularly bad because he took us in to France πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ Thank you Malcolm and sorry for the late post!! Thank you also to Helen and her neighbour, who look like they managed to get out before Storm Francis hit - my morning selfie would have been a very damp one πŸ˜‚. And happy anniversary to Toni and John, who did their walks up in Blackpool, kid free 😍😍 Toni - it is crazy to think I first knew you when you were just a kid and now you are a mum celebrating your 5 year wedding anniversary 😲 How old am I!!

Thank you to our on-going walkers and runners too ... including Debbie who got me out on a nice wet, muddy run this morning - loved it (genuinely). Also adding to the miles was Katrina and Monty; Auntie Sheelagh and Phylis; Andy and Lori, doing some serious laps!; Tony back out after his week's camping; Andy S .. been a little while too; John, Wendy, Joanne, Mike, Douglas, Alex, Mark, Ian and Daniel .... we are less than 100 miles off 11,000 miles!!!

Photos from I would run 500 miles - Running Down Dementia Challenge's post 24/08/2020

Day 128 - just 6 days and 10 hours to go ......

Thank you to our new walkers today, we had Michelle, walking with Andrea; Victoria and Poppy out with the Hawkins and Laura Hatch with a camera shy friend and the kids :-) This is fantastic news... we have now dropped the baby pheasant and are slowly replacing the dogs with humans....

Thank you also to our on-going walkers and runners ... the Suers and mum were out, Mark, Mel, Greg, Caroline, Rob, John, Andy, Kath, Joanne, Lisa, Douglas and Mandi..... we are almost at 11,000 miles!!!!!😎😎😎

Photos from I would run 500 miles - Running Down Dementia Challenge's post 23/08/2020

Day 127 - 7 days 14 hours and 35 minutes to go....

It is with sadness (sorry Elizabeth and Andrew) and excitement that I officially drop the two teddies from our count because we now have 500 living things πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ That doesn't mean we don't want new walkers and runners, as we are still 29 (perhaps a bit of a push) of them all being human πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Apologies first to Liz out in Oz, who was included on the spreadsheet count but somehow missed off the post 😳😳 Thank you also to the Barbers out in the USA, who are crazy as ever; Evelyn, who was walking with Auntie Sheelagh; Frankie, Oscar and Theresa who are visiting the Scottish Suers πŸ€ͺ; Rebecca, who joined the Spiers on a 5k; Daniel (Harry and Robbie's friend) who did a walk with his dad; and Gemma's (a top recruiter) latest additions Lisa, Freya and Ester who were out with her, Dan, Sophie and Will. I am genuinely overwhelmed with the support from all over the world - but I have to say my granny is special enough to deserve all your time 😍😍😍.

Now to our on-going crew ... WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY!!!! At about 7 pm I was second on the Strava leader board (because no-one can beat John Anderson) ... then a lot of crazy running went on! Bex ran 100 km yesterday for Motor Neurons Disease; Stephen K did 10 x 8k laps for Europe's Toughest Mudder; Gary did 57k over night and Martin did the Taihu Mountain Half Marathon!!! Was it a full moon or something??? Andy also did almost 20 km on a paddle board - not that it counts but it was part of the craziness....

For those more normal humans, your contributions are still valued 😁 so thank you to the Mason's who are very close to where I was born and where the run will virtually end; also to the Langton's on their family walk; Laura, who was blessed by a bird on her run 😟; Andrea and Andi; Richard, Robin, Brandi Jo, Greg, Caroline, Heather, Cora, Rob, Anna, Sam I, John, Andy, Sam D, Nikki, Alex, Ian, Jason ... hopefully I haven't missed anyone!

Photos from I would run 500 miles - Running Down Dementia Challenge's post 22/08/2020

Day 126 - 8 days 14 hours and 29 minutes to go .....

Thank you to Jess and Emma, Shiona's colleagues. Emma - I hope you are not in too much pain today! Thank you also to Daniel, Lorna, Marie, Lauren. Dan, Sophie and Megan (and Will a previous walker) for donating your family walk - looks like you got a great day for it. We also have two more Aussie runners Belden and Luis 🀩 That takes us to 492 walkers/runners..... at this rate we might even get 500 humans πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

As for our on-going walkers and runners - you made it πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ 10,135 miles..... Thank you to Andy who is working hard to get Cosh over the line ... just 53.5 miles to go..... today we will be running I promise... Also out there again was Katy, Sam, Heather, Cora, Maple, Auntie Pat, Uncle Phil, Mark, Emilia, Auntie Kit (autumn has hit Europe! 😟), Robin (its been a little while πŸ˜‰), Greg, Lori, Rob, John, Kath, Mac, Lisa, Mandi and Liz 🀩🀩🀩

Photos from I would run 500 miles - Running Down Dementia Challenge's post 21/08/2020

Day 125 - 9 days, 16 hours and 0 minutes left ..... that is crazy!

Thank you to our new runners today Jason Brannan - thanks for joining the Strava club 🀩 and Dave Briggs, who ran with Kat out in Oz 😎 Thank you also to Joyce and Melissa who went for a celebratory walk with Jaye after picking up their GCSE results 😁 We now need just 20 more people and I think I have at least 10 of them in the pipeline πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ we really might make it, thanks to all those who have been madly recruiting their friends.

High five to Andy B, who has done another 16 km towards Cosh's total 😍 Thank you also to the rest of you who keep contributing ... there is just 30 miles to go to get to 10,000 miles 😲 ... great job Katrina, Emma, Bailey, Monty, Katy, Sam, Heather, Cora, Maple, Rob, Laura, Auntie Pat, Uncle Phil, Brandi Jo, Greg, Caroline, Lori, Sam, John, Wendy, Joanne, Christina (who is doing brilliantly with her 5k every day), Nikki, Angela, Mark, Stephen, Ian and Daniel..... it is really inspiring to see everyone getting out their and doing some crazy milage!

Photos from I would run 500 miles - Running Down Dementia Challenge's post 20/08/2020

Day 124 - Yeahhhhh we made it to China... I thought my Strava was glitching with Chinese characters but it is really true ... thank you Martin πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

The appeal for new runners was sooooo successful I will have to bribe a teenager to get the map updated with all your locations and photos. A massive thank you for joining to .....wait for it ...... Joanne, Isobel, Nicky, Ian, Issac, Ruari, Suzanne, Jonny C, Ruth, Clark, James, Christina, Mac, Sam, Lisa, Mike, Nikki, Douglas, Mandi, Alex, Angela, Mark, Stephen, Ian, Daniel, Rute, Fiona, Gordon, Rebecca, David, Laura, Joe, Peter, Narelle, Sarah, Zach, Rosa, Pam and Nick ...that is AWESOME!!! Just 24 new walkers or runners needed 😎😎😎😎

Thank you also to our ongoing walkers and runners including Cora, who got a PB and Maple, who was just a minute off a PB, Heather, Kath, Andy, John, Sam, Rob, Jodie, Greg, the Crones, Emilia, Keziah, Anya, Claire, Mum, Rachel, Abi, Rueben, Sam and Debbie .... we have just over 200 miles to go until 10,000 miles 😲😲

19/08/2020

Day 123 - 11 days 5 hours and 36 minutes ... oh my word!!!!! Probably about 50 walkers/runners still needed, if those in the pipeline follow through ..... soooooo close.......😬😬😬

Today's new walkers are Cath and Patch - thanks for joining the challenge. It made me smile when you got in touch, thinking back to all the laughs we had at Friday Club 😍 Thank you also to our new runner Joanne - another serious Elgin runner.... must be all the fresh Scottish air 🀩🀩

It has become very clear to me that Cosh is not going to make the 500 miles, so in true Flying Haggis style, there needs to be bit of carrying (see photo below at European Obstacle Course Racing Championships). Andy Bentley - between you and Cosh there is only 68.7 miles left to do. I will try to make sure the lion share doesn't fall on you (as normal πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚).

Enough of my ramblings - thank you as always to our on-going walkers and runners, who are well on track πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³, including the Crones, Auntie Pat and Uncle Phil, Jane, Mark, Emilia, Greg, Jodie, Lori, Anna, John, Kath and Wendy - another great day of miles added.

Photos from I would run 500 miles - Running Down Dementia Challenge's post 18/08/2020

Day 122 - We are 85% of the way to the target ..... so the big push is on to find 66 more friends and family who can take part with only 12 days, 15 hours and 29 minutes to go 🀨🀨🀨🀨

Thank you to our new runner today Wendy, who is running 50 miles in August for Maggie's fundraiser - great challenge 😍 Thank you also to Kayla and Joshua who walked at New Brighton with Sam and Seamus ... looked like a lovely day out. And thank you to Adele (who I have known forever), Ian and the kids who went on a walk up the Sidlaws to support the challenge πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Our on going walkers and runner continue to do a brilliant job and we are now less than 800 miles off the 10,000 mile target πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ At the current rate of miles we will be done within the week. Well done to Katy and Ceasar; Mike and Kat out in Oz; Heather, Cora, Maple, Laura, Auntie Pat and Uncle Phil, all getting back into their routine runs and walks after the holidays; mum and dad out on the golf course; Richard; Leticia - good to see you out again; and our regulars Greg, Jodie, John, Andy and Corrie 🀩🀩🀩🀩

Photos from I would run 500 miles - Running Down Dementia Challenge's post 17/08/2020

Day 121 - Oh my goodness - 13 days 14 hours and 55 mins until the challenge finishes.....

Thank you to Moira, Richard's mum for joining the challenge on a walk with Richard, Maple and Cora. These girls are going to be so fit by the end of the summer holidays 😎 With 14ish days to go we still need 77 runners/walkers - so the challenge is for each of you to find just one friend, aunt, uncle, distant cousin, work colleague, stranger on the street ... tell then about Running Down Dementia and encourage then to give just 20-50 minutes of their day to run/walk for a great cause 🀩😍

As for our on-going walkers and runners - they are well on track for the 10,000 miles. First of all apologies to Auntie Pat's friend Lynne, so sorry for missing you off a couple of days ago 😟. Thank you also to Auntie Sheelagh and Phylis (resisting the temptation to test the fruit on the allotments), Auntie Pat and Uncle Phil (back to their regular evening walk), Andy and Gary (on a mammoth run), Laura, Paul, Edward, William (out fossil hunting again), Mark, Katy, Sam, Mike, Robin, Richard, Greg, Caroline, Rob, John and Kath. Also the Campbell's had a little donder along Irvine beach as part of our 80th birthday celebrations for Sam ..... brilliant progress everyone😎😎

Photos from I would run 500 miles - Running Down Dementia Challenge's post 16/08/2020

Day 120 - Oh dear .... the first day in 120 I haven't walked or ran ... but we did do 5 cycles and a swim for Sam's 80th birthday celebrations πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Our new walker yesterday was Marian, Helen's mum and our new runner was Kath - thank you both for joining the challenge 🀩 Our new walkers today are Dawn and Jonathan, who had a lucky escape from the lightening storm on their walk! 😟

We are continuing to storm toward the 10,000 mile target thanks to the Langtons, the Maloneys, Sam M, Auntie Pat, Uncle Phil, Andrea, Emilia, the Crones, Richard, Brandi Jo, Greg, Gary, Anna, George, John, Kat, Andy, Laura, the Bruderers, Mark, Rob and Sam I .....we now have less than 1,000 miles to go ......😁😁😁😁😁😁

Photos from I would run 500 miles - Running Down Dementia Challenge's post 14/08/2020

Day 118 - Just when I thought I was going to have to start accosting people in the park we had a massive boost to numbers πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Thank you Sam, John, Andy (and your dog) for joining the challenge and thank you to Gary for getting our new Strava recruits. You guys are insane... you just added about 250 km to the challenge total!! Thank you also to Anna and George, the dog, for bagging your first munro. I love seeing all these firsts and PBs on the challenge 🀩 A big high five for Jill and Nicola - I know how crazy busy you have been so I really appreciate you getting out last night 😍 Thank you also to my nephews who told their whole class about the challenge and have dedicated their class daily mile - well done boys 😎😎

Thank you also to our on-going runners and walkers. The Turners were out globally, so thanks to Rob, Heather, Maple, Cora, Auntie Pat and Uncle Phil. Katy and the kids had a lovely farm walk. Lucy has been getting alternate parents out walking and running (sorry for missing you yesterday) ... well done 😎😎 Sam and Diane made it out for the first time in a while πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ Me, mum, Monty and the kids were at St Cyrus, which was very beautiful. Last but not least ... our daily runners Greg, Caroline, Jodie and Lori were out too πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ Great job everyone ......

Photos from I would run 500 miles - Running Down Dementia Challenge's post 13/08/2020

Day 117 - Another lovely day in sunny Scotland 😍

Today our new walkers are Holly and the kids, who look like they had a great day at the beach with Kaleigh. Thank you for joining the challenge 🀩🀩

Tony is absolutely smashing it with his running at the moment - great job 🀩 I am also impressed with everyone who is still running in the heat including Debbie, Katy, Jane, Laura, Greg, Caroline, Jodie, Lori, Kat, Richard and Rob - another 175 km closer to the target πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

We also have a wildlife spot back again .... it has been a while on that one πŸ₯Ί

Photos from I would run 500 miles - Running Down Dementia Challenge's post 11/08/2020

Day 115 - Some how I missed the fact that granny (the key person in the whole challenge) has been getting out for walks too during the challenge 😳😲🧐🧐

Our new runner today is not a new person over all, but a walker turned runner ....... my mum ...... yes it was a surprise to me too!! We were heading out for a walk round the village and before I knew it we were off for a run 🀩🀩

After a phenomenal milage day yesterday we have had a bit of a lull.... perhaps everyone was recovering! Greg was out of course, as he has been every day since he joined the challenge 😎 Also out having a lovely day at the beach (while I worked 😭😭😭) was Ben, Jaye, George, Katrina, Camie, Sandy, Monty, mum and Callum.
Well done all 😍

Photos from I would run 500 miles - Running Down Dementia Challenge's post 10/08/2020

Day 114 - yeaahhh I got to see my granny and grandad 😍😍😍

Thank you to our new runner Dave Bygroves ... glad I bumped in to you on your cycle to the pub 😎😎 ... now you need to get the rest of the family out. Also new to the Strava club is Brandi Jo's dog 🐢

Thank you also to our on-going walkers and runners - it was our second highest total miles over the 114 days of the challenge!!! Well done to Gary, Andy and Lori who did a huge 27 km run; Maple and Cora (and supervising adults πŸ˜‚) were not far behind at 21 km and have now walked and run over 4 marathons for the challenge πŸ₯³πŸ₯³; Lee and Foggy - I see you are getting right back into running ... I hope to see the rest of the family out with you soon 🀩; my kids and nephews joined me for a fantastic (if not a little dangerous, according to the nephews) walk along the Arbroath cliffs; Tony was out for another long hot run; the Langton's were out in force too (Debbie you are just too fast for me now!); big high five also to Stuart, Robbie and Annie (lovely photo), Katy; Greg and Jodie ..... That was over 350 miles in one day πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Photos from I would run 500 miles - Running Down Dementia Challenge's post 09/08/2020

Day 113 - New country conquered ... we have made it in to Canada πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Our new runners today, all the way from Canada are Rob and Mel, my cousin's cousins 😁 Thank you for joining the challenge. Thanks also to Jonny Lowes and Stevie back here in the UK for their 13 km run - that must have been a tough one in yesterday's heat!

As always, a thank you also goes to our on-going walkers and runners. A huge High Five to Katy, who just did 30 mins continuous running 🀩😎 Bizarrely Auntie Sheelagh (with Phyllis) and Auntie Kit did exactly the same length of walk at totally different times in different countries ... must be a sister's connection 😍😍 Thank you to Brandi Jo, who is battling even hotter temperatures than us in Texas; Andrea, Gill, Jodie, Greg, Richard, Richard, Maple, Cora, Auntie Pat and Uncle Phil. We have now done 8,056 miles 😲😲😲😲

Photos from I would run 500 miles - Running Down Dementia Challenge's post 08/08/2020

Day 112 – 16.1 marathons down and 3 to go …. for me… Cosh still has 10 to go!! Not quite sure how that is going to happen!

CAN YOU HELP: Another target we might miss is the 500 runners/walkers. We have made great progress this week and have had 367 contributors but we still need 133 people….. which is over 6 people per day……. However, if everyone who follows this page got just one friend to do it, we would be almost there or if everyone who generally sees this post got two friends then we would be there……. πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Our new walker today is my mum’s golfing friend Val – thank you for joining in. It looks like you had a beautiful day for golfing 😊

Thank you also to our on-going walkers and runners, including the Suers with Alison and Mark, Andrea, Gill, Debbie, Tony, Mel and Emma and their kids, my dad, Greg, Jodie, Auntie Pat, Uncle Phil, Laura, Heather, Richard, Cora and Maple, who did another HUGE walk.
