ICEA Project
I.CE.A. is an Erasmus+ project aiming to Invest on Circular Economy through Adults ♻️
The “I.CE.A.” Project (co-funded by the European Union) aims to offer high quality learning and networking opportunities responding to the needs of adults wishing to dynamically engage in circular economy activities. The project will build a bridge amongst green entrepreneurs (mentors) and future green entrepreneurs (mentees). Social entrepreneurship signals the imperative to drive social change and the project aims to trigger and reinforce this change.
Have you ever wondered where are all the green initiatives around you? 🤔
The ICEA Project has launched its interactive Green Initiatives app, where you can explore, visit, and add any green initiatives you have in mind!

🌍 Reflecting on the close of 2023, it's evident that it marked a troubling milestone: the year stands as the hottest on record. Against this backdrop, the recent climate talks in Dubai unfolded with a sense of urgency. However, European representatives expressed significant dissatisfaction with the draft deal on fossil fuels, deeming it "unacceptable" and "disappointing."
Compounding this issue is the concerning trend of escalating material extraction and consumption worldwide. Over the past six years, our consumption levels have surged, nearly matching the entirety of the 20th century. This pattern, closely tied to greenhouse gas emissions, underscores the pressing need for sustainable practices.
As we navigate these challenges, it's imperative to rally behind concerted efforts for change. Advocating for robust policies, embracing resource efficiency, and fostering a culture of environmental stewardship are paramount. Together, through collective action and innovation, we can strive for a more sustainable future. 🌱

🌐 Embracing the Circular Economy: Bridging the Gap between Theory and Practice 🔄
In the journey towards a sustainable future, the shift from theory to practice in the circular economy is a paramount step. However, for this transition to be successful, a pivotal consideration lies in understanding the skills demanded by businesses adopting circular strategies.
🔄 Key to Success: Skill Alignment
To propel high-impact industries into the realm of sustainability, policymakers must identify the skills crucial for businesses implementing circular models. A prime example is the textiles and clothing sector, responsible for releasing a staggering 1.2 billion tonnes of CO2 annually. By aligning skills with the demands of circular strategies, we pave the way for a profound impact on the environment.
Can AI boost data-driven policymaking in the circular economy? There may not be a silver bullet solution to climate change, but AI-based research can help us find solutions to the most complex crisis of our time, Marijana Novak and Megan Murdie write.
🌍✨ Food for Thought: Unseen Dangers in Your Daily Bites! ✨🌍
Hey, coffee enthusiasts and burger lovers! ☕🍔 Ever wondered what else you're sipping or munching on along with that delightful cup of coffee or your favorite burger? 🤔 Brace yourselves for a wake-up call – it might be more than just caffeine and deliciousness!
🚫🌱 Microplastics and "Forever Chemicals" Alert! 🚫🌱
Did you know that your to-go disposable cup or that wrapping paper around your burger might be sneaking in some not-so-pleasant extras into your system? We're talking about microplastics and "forever chemicals," and trust us, it's not the kind of freebie you'd want! 😱
🤯 What's the Buzz About?
Food packaging is designed to keep our meals fresh and safe, but here's the catch: it could also be harboring harmful chemicals that find their way into our food and, ultimately, into our bodies. 😨 These chemicals, though invisible to our senses, leave their mark in our blood and urine, posing potential risks for long-term health issues. 🩸🤒
🌈 Knowledge is Key! 🧠✨
Let's stay informed and make conscious choices about what we put in our bodies. 💡 Share this post with your friends and family to spread awareness – because knowing what's on our plate is just as important as savoring the flavors! 🍽️💚
Remember, it's not just about the taste; it's about making choices that nourish our bodies and our planet. 🌎💚

🍃 We humans have a built-in capacity to take things for granted. Perhaps it is a survival instinct, a constant drive to find a placid state of “normal.” It’s an understandable goal, but it is futile. For most of the twentieth century we took the “normal” functioning of the planet’s climate system for granted; some, amazingly, still do.
