Just a few shots of some of my favourite flowers - from my mums spectacular garden! (The last one isn’t though!). My house is moving into the autumn - the light is fading, and the cooler air is hanging around. I am still hoping for a last minute reprieve of an Indian summer for September but I guess we shall see- I still have a rockery to build out in the garden 🤣🤣🤦‍♀️. August has been a wash out! I’m working on a great audiobook right now that’s making me hanker to swim in the sea again. But I feel like that might need to wait till next year now 🤣

But candles, wools, blankets and soups are no bad thing eh?!

Well we’ve had a miserable week of rain!! Still in hope it’ll turn around - I’m removing the hops from the fireplace today to make a smaller, neater dried flower display as this fireplace is just too busy for my liking now! I’ll share on stories- it’ll be time for this fire to be lit soon 😱🤣 anyone else lit theirs yet??

No Mack’s Hacks this Tuesday as the one I tried didn’t work 🤣 and I didn’t manage to make another in time so thought I’d bring you the bathroom - and her previous lives instead. She’s going to be painted a different colour at some point but I just can’t settle on what colour yet! Any ideas drop them below ⬇️! The cabinets have also been white and black since we moved in but I’m enjoying the wood look for now. We will probably have to change them at some point soon as they’re terrible quality and have warped badly but will wait until we’re ready to do it over completely (not going to mention the company but if you want to know a bathroom company to avoid ask below and I’ll DM you).

Garden progress! I thought I’d show you some progress shots - you can see two of the current Coal scuttle area and two of the current garden area and then one each of how they were before we did them.
To be fair, the garden is constantly changing as things die, get weather worn or get broken by enthusiastic growing boys 🤣 so it’s a constant battle but one I enjoy! Not sure I’d want a bigger garden though as this is more than enough to keep me busy so no dreams of a mansion garden here 🤣🙌🏻 Plus for a garden in the city, she’s pretty decent I think?! Having said that, I’ve got a few fun changes coming soon! I meant to do them earlier but then summer holiday life got in the way!
I have a to do list as long as my arm always! 🤣😩

Ooft July is nearly over! So here’s a run down of July for me:
1. Unrelated pic of my current favourite room - the playroom.
2. Other angle of said room feat the best sofa bed ever (from )
3. Holiday time : this is the kids having the time of their life petting farm near Belfast NI, best day ever- they had baby everything, puppies, chicks, foals, calves, piglets, amazing.
4.5 & 6 Gorgeous Portnoo Beach in co. Donegal.
7. Rosbeg beach also in Co Donegal. I was trying to get us all off the ground but we tried like 15 times and they have the timing of horses on tranquilisers so this is what we got 🤣
And yes I did go in in my swimsuit whilst the boys were in wetsuits purely because I couldnt be bothered putting mine on/taking it off and drying it 🤣💪🏻.
Also I felt very brave taking the boys away for 2 weeks on my own but what an adventure we had. When I get unpacked etc I’ll put together a fun reel on our little road trip.
We did get a fair bit of rain but that’s to be expected in these parts nowadays isn’t it?!

Kids Room: It feels like a good day to put a giant sun on the grid 🤣 I free handed this sun - and no it’s not mathematically correct size wise, but with the pitched walls it was always going to look wonky so I decided to roll with it 🧘‍♀️
I was just thinking that I’m going to be very sad when it comes to changing this room up - when the boys grow out of the gorgeous mural and sea theme 😭😭
And I don’t think I’ve got long… thankfully the eldest hates football so I don’t have to engage in that but who knows what the next obsession will be when dinosaurs pass on… 🤷‍♀️🤔

Beautiful daisies! Daisies make me very happy. Aren’t they just the simplest joy. I must make a note to add some to the garden - especially these giant sized ones. It’s been so lovely enjoying the garden these past few days in this gorgeous weather! I’ve got a very exciting new space to show you but still waiting sign off from the brand so keep your eyes peeled for that!
Also of course, I’m planning another change up - well a few. I’m considering changing up the dark grey walls in here - what do you think? What colour would you use?

Ok I know this shot is rather autumnal but it’s been somewhat dark 🤣. We actually had a lovely day yesterday so that’s fabulous. As you can see I’m on a daily diet of cake since my birthday party when we had a bake off competition and the cakes were soooo good!
My sister made some very gorgeous things called Brookies - a cross between a brownie and a cookie which was DELISH. And someone made my very favourite lemon drizzle 🤤. Top prize went to my mother in laws coffee cake 🏆🥇

YUM. Anyway, don’t think anything of it if I look a bit chunkier in coming pics 🤣🤣✌🏼
In other news I have finished the coal scuttle (coal hole 😱) area and I cannot wait to show you! Just waiting for sign off from the brand I’ve been working with, but I’m very very pleased with it so far watch out for that! 👀

Hey hey from your 40 year old pocket pal… yep I turned 40 yesterday! Ooft. I’m actually ok with it though. I had a mini crisis when I turned 30 so perhaps that’s sorted it 🤣🤘🏻.
- I had a morning of chopping a dead tree down (for use in the currently being redecorated coal scuttle/store), then some shopping (will show you on stories later).
So here’s a few pics of us enjoying ourselves At Gin 71, a shot of their central pole with the most incredible curved tiles, then my favourite, Vroni’s wine bar- the most relaxing haunt in Glasgow city centre. Very traditional and unfancy but just such a relaxed and lovely vibe. The big party is still to come so plant to look forward to!

In other news, the weather is still not fully playing ball with my coal scuttle/store makeover so I’m on go slow whenever the weather breaks! But… it’s looking very fabulous and I’m getting very excited to show you!! Woot woot! Hopefully not long now, just need a couple of days sunshine to get a second coat on!

Good morning! Thursday already 😱 I’m excited coz I’m off to tomorrow for their garden fair with my mum and dad. I’ll be sure to bring you along on stories too of course so keep an eye open!

Also I thought it’s been a while since I posted the Whisky office on here. So here’s some details:
1. The WO as I would like it, styled with plants and no whisky 🤣
2. The reality - Gerry wants it to look like a pub. I think we achieved it 🤣
3. The uncovered chimney breast that nearly killed me to restore!
4. The interim fireplace we made to get us by until we could do it properly.
5. The fireplace we inherited with the house. In good working order, and efficient but no great shakes to look at!

So there you have it! The evolution of the whisky office - can’t wait for someone to tell me they prefer it before 🤣😱😬

Summer in the garden! Let’s hope this nasty weather goes away and we can all relax outside again. I’ve got a very exciting transformation of the coal scuttle area outside our side door coming! I can’t wait to show you all my plans - which are currently sketched out very badly on the back of a scrap of paper 🤣! Although with it being an outdoor project, I could really do with the weather playing ball for me!!!! Arghhhhhh! 🤣
Anyway else waiting for sunshine to complete something?! I’ve actually got two garden areas to complete 😱🤣. Ah well! I’m soooo excited to show you them! Will post some before and plans on stories 🙌🏻

It’s been a while since I posted our Kitchen! So here she is. She’s 4 years old, from cost £5K (no appliances), and I love her just as much as the day she arrived! Perhaps more actually - since I’ve added bits and bobs regularly since then - wooden dowels, fancy k***s, spice rack etc. - all simple things that add character!
We had completely run out of build budget by the time we got to the kitchen so it was an absolute godsend to find something that we loved on the very tight budget we managed to pull together. Oven was a £250 find on gumtree. Best bargain ever.

Bring on summer and the rest of my plants. So enjoying seeing the garden coming alive again 🥰🌸 also remembering what plants I have and where 🤣

Good morning! Happy Thursday - we’re still on Easter break here - finishing on Monday, so still attempting to find things to do with the kids in the CONSTANT RAIN ☔️. But what’s new?! 🤣.
I’m looking out to the garden and seeing all the bulbs and plants coming to life which is exciting - and the grass needs cut really badly. On that note - has anyone got a robot grass cutter? Are they worth it? I’m very tempted but don’t know anyone with one and so am not sure if they’re worth the money? Any advice in comments much appreciated! 💕🙌🏻

I thought I’d post a couple of shots of our bedroom as I’ve got my gorgeous Mother’s Day flowers in here just now! The Boy done good.

In other news the playroom/guest room re-do has started! Mural has been ordered, paint has been ordered and the pax wardrobes are en route! Very exciting. I’m going to have my work cut out for me over the next few weeks. I’ll be giving updates each Sunday so keep an eye out for that. It’s defo going to worse before it gets better though 😱🤣

Happy Mothers Day to you and yours! Business as usual here - although I hoping to sneak in a skate at some point perhaps. Really enjoying getting back into ice skating - although teaching children to Ice skate is TRICKY. But they’re getting there now, and it’ll be worth it.
Anyway, I hope you’re having a lovely day whatever you’re doing - Motherhood can be a rough ride at times, so at the very least, congratulate yourself that you’re doing your best. I haven’t put a picture of my mum on here coz she would kill me 🤣 but she’s an absolute titan of strength, creativity and inspiration.

Morning! Well I thought I’d show you a close up of our mantle arrangement that I made a few months ago. It’s been several different versions of this so far but I’m enjoying the yellow - especially now it’s spring 💛. Also the perfect time for carrot cake incidentally. 🤣.
I’m Deep in planning stage for the make over of the playroom/guest room which is going to be fabulous. A few more bits to pull together and I’ve got a planning apt at ikea next week for the wardrobe built ins I’m going to do! Very exciting times- it’s going to be an exciting ride 😱🤣🥰

Spring spring spring!
Is it here yet? No. 🤣. I got all excited and then the temperature plummeted this week 🤣. Heating back on. And I have a cold. But hey ho! On we go. Need to plan a holiday and get over it. If anyone has any recommendations for places with kids- I only have a few specifications: easy flights from uk, must have beach walkable, must have an old town or something architecturally or historically interesting nearby. Send me any ideas people and I’ll be forever in your debt!

Kitchen shots! I thought I’d have a play around with the Island - I put a tablecloth on it 🤣 and enjoyed the change for the afternoon. I’m actually going to vinyl wrap it later on the week so keep an eye open for that change up! The kids have really damaged the laminate - it’s very scratched so I’m going to cover it up for a bit while we save for a stone worktop (the first thing that went during the renovation budget 😭).

Sacrifices are all part of the renovation process (if you’re going to stick close to your budget that is), and we didn’t have much wiggle room so along the way we lost:
- granite worktops
- wooden floors (glad about this one actually) our laminate vinyl is great.
- roll top bath
- bifolds (also glad about this one)
- any landscaping.
But we managed to do the landscaping ourselves and with one local guy who was brilliant. And the rest were fine, all things we have either changed our minds on or will put in later on. I’m so glad we spend all our money on the actual build and getting the most out of our space.
Any Renovation choices you’ve actually beeen pleased to lose?

Well V day is over so I’m now ready for spring season 🤣 - bring it on! 🌼🌼🌼
Also completely obsessed by this yellow gingham tablecloth I got in the laredoute sale. What a win!
We’re just back from a half term spent in lego land! I’m absolutely exhausted 🥱. Thankfully the boys are back at school so it’s a big work catch up day today! Will put some legoland pics and advice/review on stories in case anyone is thinking of going.

Dreaming of spring - and it’s not even February yet 🤣. But happy Burns Night to one and all: always a good excuse to eat, drink and be merry. Or in this household, do all of the above and complete multiple school projects on the big man himself in time for the big day. I actually used to be a Burns singer - and would get paid to sing or perform his poems at events. Such a fun job as everyone is always in great spirits and I’ve always loved his material.
Anyway enough of that, here’s my bathroom hopefully to bring you some spring joy. And watch out for Sunday - I’m going to be bringing you the first part of my antique trunk upcycle and it’s going to be fabulous!

It’s perfectly normal to have a tree in your cottage bathroom right? I mean, why not? 🤣 I made this out of a dead tree branch from the garden, some hot glue and a handful of faux stems from Ikea. Easy peasy. Definitely one of my favourite DIYs - simple and satisfying. And I can’t kill it, which is a win 🙌🏻 it also has fairy lights in it which is delightful for bathtime.

Bathroom Tree / Nature Bathroom / Floral bathroom

Morning! I thought it’s been a while since I showed you the boys bedroom, which we took back to the brick when we moved in, as there was years of paint wallpaper that was holding up the non existent walls.
So here you can see both sides - one which I wallpapered a mural and one which I stencilled and freehand painted. I love that they’re different, fun and bright. What do you think? Is having it different on both ends a bit weird or fun?
I’m dreading them growing up and having to make it a football or Harry Potter room 🤣 stay babies please!!

Morning! Well I thought I’d show you the changing stages of this wall in the last month. First I decided I wanted to make a bookshelf. Then I decided we don’t have enough books and it would be very tricky coz these walls are very wonky. So I decided on shelving instead. But realised I needed to do the cornice that I’d been putting off for ages first! So the first photo is a cornice pic. Second, third, fourth and fifth is the evolution of that wall. The styling isn’t my best but I just chucked some stuff on it as I know I need to do Christmas this week so will be redoing it anyway! I’m very excited for some shelf faffing 🤣❤️.
The shelves I made out of some old timber from my neighbours decking. I literally just sawed them to size, and stained them darker with Colron. The brackets are wrought iron and £10 from amazon.

I thought I’d show a few progress shots of the living room, now it’s become a dining room! So the first one is how it was. But we found we never used it, so now we’ve swapped the sofa into the kitchen and have this space to eat in (which is just off the kitchen). It’s great, but needed some tweaks. I’m currently fixing the crappy ceiling , plastering, coving and adding bookcase shelving which I’ve made myself from old scaffold shelves. Nothing super fancy but it all takes time - and with the kids being on holiday (againnnnnn), this week is hard! But I think I’ll be done in a week or so. Very exciting 😍
Need to go think up a plan for today coz the boys are constantly asking what we’re doing 😱🤣 help!

I decided to pop a tablecloth on the island for a wee change up 🤣 and I rather like it. I’m constantly moving things about in our house - I just love trying things in different spaces.
