Brain surgery. It's scary to just say. Now imagine having to live through it. Leap of Fate's guest this week Kashmir (Kash) Neumann is a friend of mine. Kash had to get brain surgery at 25 years old (3 years ago) due to a genetic issue called ABM on her occipital lobe.
Kash had successful surgery and has recovered. She is sharing her inspiring story and message by self-publishing and releasing her self-titled book "Kashmir".
On this pod, we dive into what led to her having brain surgery, what brain surgery was like, and the recovery. Lastly, we dive into writing and self-publishing her book.
Kash embodies the Leap of Fate message. She has overcome adversity with a smile on her face and the right mindset that she wasn't going to let it hold it back.
I am really proud and honored she allowed me the opportunity to share her message and story with LOF fans.
Be inspired. Enjoy yall :)

Do these statements sound familiar? “I should have trusted my gut.” “I knew what was really going on but I didn’t say anything.” "I wanted it so badly but I still walked away."
Do you know how to listen to your intuition? This will help you find your Ikig*i of perfect balance in your life. We explore both of these ideas in Leap of Fate Pod 64.
Intuition exists in all of us, whether we acknowledge it or not. The more we can learn about it, the more we can use it to shape our lives for the better.
The human brain has two ‘operating systems’. The first is quick, instinctual, and effortless. This is where our intuition lies. Intuition works by drawing on patterns collected by our experience and when we have to make a quick decision about whether something is real, fake, feels good, feels bad, right or wrong, we draw on these patterns. It all happens ‘offline, outside our conscious awareness.
The second operating system is slower to respond. It’s more analytical and deliberate and it’s conscious.
Leap of Fate Pod's guest this week, Julia Li, and I have a fireside chat over these concepts. Julia was working at Google for 6 years and felt her intuition pulling her more towards a job in sustainability. She finally listened to it, quit her Google job, and followed her intuition down a path learning more about sustainability. As a result, she found her dream job and put her at the center of her Ikig*i!
What is Ikagi? Ikig*i (ee-key-guy) is a Japanese concept that combines the terms iki, meaning “alive” or “life,” and g*i, meaning “benefit” or “worth.” When combined, these terms mean that which gives your life worth, meaning, or purpose. Ikagi combines:
1. What you love
2. What the world needs
3. What you are paid for
4. What you are great at it.
If you can find something that combines all 4, you are truly at the center of bliss and happiness. To help get to your Ikagi, there are 4 key topics we explore and provide solutions for:
1. Developing a healthy relationship with your intuition
2. ID your fears and how you can overcome them
3. Being comfortable with ambiguity and what you can do to overcome the nerves
4. Don't undersell yourself. Know your self-worth and stick by it!
Intuition is powerful and can lead to amazing insights, but that doesn’t mean you follow it blindly. It’s still important to use common sense and a balance of rationality. Julia and I lay out what you can do to follow your intuition to find your Ikig*i!
Enjoy yall! Follow your intuition. Make your dreams a reality and find that Ikig*i!
