We all know that consistency is the secret ingredient of building new habits or leaving bad ones but it’s also the wildest beast to tame.
So how do we do this…..?
Wake up early even after the “I’m gonna do it” week has passed?
Apply to new jobs after multiple rejections?
Keep showing up on socials even if nobody likes our posts?
I know you might scoff at this but you have to get started the way everyone keeps telling you to.👇🏻
Build a routine that suits you best and stick to it.
One day. Next day. Next week. Next month.
There are going to be days when you will give up, but the secret lies in getting started where you left the next day.
Trust me, if you keep starting over and over again, you’re going to get tired and end up just doing it every day.
Pro Tip: If you’re a morning person, you should plan your day early when your energy level is high and you’re more productive.
If your attention span is better at night, plan your work around that.
It’s difficult to build consistency but it won’t happen if you don’t even take the initiative.
Make those to-do lists, mark your calendar, set up reminders, and just get started TODAY!!!

Have you ever sneaked in uneccessary details in your article to achieve the assigned word count?
Yes?
Well, time to cut the fluff - unless you aren’t interested in keeping your audience hooked on your write up.
Wordy, meaningless filler content is hardly going to be read through till the end… so all that time you spent in putting the article together is wasted! 🤕

Wouldn’t it feel lovely to work on a content piece only once and always have something new to work on instead of pulling your hair over editing the same thing over and over again just because you didn’t ask the right questions at the start?
When we are starting out, we are usually so excited to “work” that we overlook these minute details.
Reading clients’ messages properly, answering their questions attentively, asking the right questions, and being impatient to submit the work…
Most of the new writers are more concerned about counting words and money (It’s good to be attentive to the monetary aspect but you HAVE to validate your work as well or you won’t be able to charge higher!)
Anyway, we all go through this but this is also one of the major reasons you might be swamped with edits and have no time to work on fresh projects.

Arthur C. Clark’s interview on BBC in 1964:
“It will be possible in that age, perhaps only 50 years from now for a man to conduct his business from Tahiti or Bali just as well as he could from London.”
How unreal this concept must have felt just 50 years ago.
Now imagine the world 50 years from today 🤯
I don’t know who needs to hear this but….Upwork isn’t the only platform where you can connect with high-paying clients.
Why compete with thousands of writers out there when you can sit back, swing on your revolving chair (or not), eat in your PJs and let the clients crawl to you, banging on your virtual door?
To attract more and better clients you need to:
👉🏻 Optimize your freelancing profiles
👉🏻 Know how to approach and convince better clients
👉🏻 Communicate and work with international clients
👉🏻 Build long-lasting working relationships
👉🏻 Understand which platform works best for you (Upwork, Fiverr, Linkedin, Online Job Boards etc.)

One of the top reasons people end up doing what they didn’t want to do is guilt and obligation.
But remember, in freelancing, you are working so you can choose how you live your life. This is why it is crucial to set clear boundaries with your clients so they don’t ruin your dream life for you.

Ever wondered why certain words or phrases hit differently in various situations?
Because, it’s all about context!
Understanding the context allows you to tailor content to resonate with the audience and convey your message effectively.
It shapes your words’ impact, influencing how your message is received.
The key is to be mindful of the your tone (i.e. formal or conversational) and the purpose of your content.
👉 Pro Tip: Before you hit that ‘publish’ button, ask yourself: Does my tone align with the context of my content? Am I engaging my audience the right way?
This way, you’ll be able to write content that not only speaks but connects with your audience. 🎯
Freelancing is an over-saturated market, and not everyone makes it out of their beginner zone.
In fact, making your place in the market with several amazing other freelancers can feel like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
The truth is, usually, freelancers learn the basics and they think they’ve got it all. I’m sorry to say, you cannot master ANYTHING in a month or two or even a year.
Getting started is just the beginning and there is a lot more to do to polish your skill and shine.

Freelance marketplaces can be frustrating.
The constant competition, low rates, and unpredictable clients can make your head spin.
But don’t worry, there ARE better alternatives that you can explore to find direct clients 👇🏻
1️⃣ Job Boards
Check out job boards like ProBlogger, where quality clients are actively seeking professional content writers. These clients are often willing to pay a fair rate for top-notch work.
2️⃣ LinkedIn
LinkedIn isn’t just for networking; it’s a goldmine for potential clients. Showcase your skills, connect with decision-makers, and start a conversation. You’ll be amazed at the results!
3️⃣ Facebook Groups
Join niche-specific Facebook groups where clients are looking for your expertise. It’s an excellent way to build relationships and find opportunities in your chosen field.
4️⃣ Reddit
Don’t overlook Reddit! It’s not just for cat videos and memes. Subreddits like r/HireAWriter and r/forhire are teeming with clients seeking talented writers.
The bottom line: Ditch the marketplace rat race and start seeking out direct clients in places where your skills are valued. It takes a bit more effort, but the reward is well worth it.
P.S. My Content Writing Catalyst Course (CWC) can help you learn the right strategies to market yourself as a top-notch freelance content writer and land high-paying clients with ease!
Content writers get paid to write, which means that we are expected to turn our writing switch on and off according to our jobs, deadlines or working environment.
However, “writing” doesn’t work like this.
Sometimes, you have too much to say that your creativity is dimmed and sometimes you just are not inspired to go ahead with the piece yet.
That’s writer’s block.
➡️ Swipe ➡️ to see what I suggest to overcome it!
Do you have your own way to deal with writer’s block?

You might have already practiced plenty of different ways to attract clients as you put yourself out there. Fiverr, Upwork, Freelancer, Facebook Groups, maybe cold pitches…and you do have SOME clients, but not as many as you want and as good as you want.
If that’s the case, I highly suggest you to start “networking” to make sure that your funnel (getting clients) never runs dry.
And this doesn’t mean sending an “add me as a friend on Facebook” message to potential clients and fellow freelancers.
It’s about building genuine connections without always expecting something in return.
While you do your day hustle sending proposals, pitches, and applications, you can start focusing on connecting with like-minded people as well.
Also, message your previous clients. Ask about their days, work, or if they need any kind of help. This could be your chance of getting hired again by them, or someone else through their reference.

I personally believe in offering specialized services when you’re past the beginner and the intermediate stages of freelancing.
For example, being known for SEO Writing, Affiliate Writing, Social Media Marketing or Facebook Ads etc.
But of course, you can offer multiple services and even if it takes years to master multiple skills and convince clients to trust you with multiple platforms, it’s definitely easier to develop multiple income streams like that.
But what do you do when you only know Content Writing and that’s your strongest suit?
What can you add more to your services that is not too different from your core strength but also has the potential to help you grow?
Here’s my answer:
➡️ Start offering AI writing as a service💥
YES! Instead of fearing AI to be threat, change your perspective and cash it as a newfound opportunity.
There are businesses which are specifically looking to create content using AI and they are looking for people to do it for them.
This is your chance to diversify your content writing services; it’s interesting, new and not too out of your comfort zone.

You won’t believe it until you try it - the power of connecting with others in your industry!
A lot of newbie freelancers might feel that it’s not a good idea to connect with their “competitors”, but honestly, it IS an excellent method for understanding the basic ups and downs of freelancing and how to get over client rejections while growing your network along the way!

I know how difficult it is to avoid scams being a newbie in the freelancing business because scammers prey on freelancers who are not familiar with the industry yet.
It’s like you desperately want to land a job, but the fear of NOT getting paid after your hard work is holding you back.
So, let’s get into a few of the practical tips that I have personally applied during my early days to avoid scammers.
➡️ Swipe ➡️ to get a hang of how you can stay vigilant in your early freelancing days.
I hope this post helps you steer away from scammers disguised as prospects.
If you feel like you have more questions, drop them in the comments below and I’ll get back to you.
Unnecessary content in any blog post is rude, disrespectful, and misleading. It’s just fluff that should’t be there in the first place.
It doesn’t mean that you cannot write history in a recipe blog, or talk about the importance of smartphones when writing about the best gaming laptops. You can do whatever you want…. but you have to consider what your readers want first.
You have to respect your readers’ time and tell them exactly what they came looking for.
Otherwise they’ll just scroll past your write-up to a competitor’s blog instead.
Here is how to write content that is respectful to your readers and is also effective:
1️⃣ Start with Essential Information
Tell them what they came looking for.
2️⃣ Provide Additional Details
Here, tell them all you have on the subject.
3️⃣ Conclude Powerfully
Pack up all the info with a compelling call to action.
Easy.
Remember, quality comes first.
I hope you keep these points in mind when drafting your blog posts! 🙌🏻
Becoming a better writer is a journey that requires practice, dedication, and continuous improvement. On repeat.
Here are some simple formulas to help you enhance your writing skills:
➡️ Read Regularly: Reading widely exposes you to different writing styles, vocabulary, and ideas. Read books, articles, blogs, and other forms of writing to expand your knowledge and understanding of language.
➡️ Write Every Day: Practice makes perfect. Set aside time each day to write, even if it's just a short journal entry or a creative exercise. Consistent writing helps you develop your voice and improves your writing fluency.
➡️ Practice Different Styles: Experiment with different writing styles, such as persuasive, narrative, informative, or descriptive. Diversifying your writing skills allows you to adapt to various contexts.
➡️ Write with Purpose: Understand the purpose of your writing. Whether it's to inform, entertain, persuade, or educate, align your content with your intended message.
➡️ Outline Your Writing: Before diving into a longer piece, create an outline. Outlining helps you organize your thoughts and structure your writing effectively.
➡️ Edit and Revise: Writing is rewriting. Take the time to edit and revise your work. Check for grammar errors, sentence structure, and overall coherence. A well-edited piece is more polished and impactful.
➡️ Seek Feedback: Share your writing with peers, mentors, or writing groups to receive constructive feedback. Feedback offers valuable insights and helps you identify areas for improvement.
And now, the most important formula:
➡️ Be patient with yourself, keep learning, embrace the failures and celebrate your progress. ✨
