The clinic continues to provide services to Children and Adolescents, while our adult section will be closing.

After more than a year, we are closing our Adult ADHD clinic (but not the children and adolescents one).

We had many patients coming through our clinic. However, our adult psychiatrists ( Dr Aaron Musker and Dr Nathan Barusch) are moving on to their new exciting roles/countries and we wish them all the best.

The clinic will continue to provide services to Children and Adolescents by Dr Yariv Doron.

We are proud to introduce our newest launch: an Adult ADHD screening tool and dedicated clinic.

We understand that many individuals may suspect they have ADHD, but the process of getting assessed can be costly and involves considerable waitlists. To address this, we have created a cost-effective solution for identifying the likelihood of an ADHD diagnosis.

Our approach involves a highly-validated online assessment (Creyos), that measures selected Cognitive and Executive Functions, along with screening questionnaires, to gain a better understanding of any challenges a patient may be facing. This tool can be used for Adults, as well as Children and Adolescents.

The entire process can be completed in the comfort of the patient’s home, taking only 45-60 minutes.

The results from the assessment will be analysed by a professional (either a psychologist or a psychiatrist), and the patient will receive a report and recommendations within a few working days. Then, if ADHD is suspected, they can use this report when seeking treatment from a doctor.

Patients will also have the option to book an appointment with one of our psychiatrists (pending availability). This new ADHD clinic will join our existing Child and Adolescent psychiatry service:

I spent 22 years calling myself lazy. I was diagnosed with ADHD in 30 minutes 17/04/2022

ADHD can serve as a trauma in a person’s life. Deviating what would have been a typical trajectory into a potentially chaotic and painful one.
It starts with awareness and ends with a WOW and resolution.

IF you or someone in your life is presenting with signs and symptoms suspected of ADHD, go and seek for help.

What can we do better this time around with the lockdown ongoing?
Three simple things to focus on, will make a world of difference: Compassion, Generosity, and Gratitude.

Compassion: allow yourself to look at your child and accept the good and the not-so-good moments. They are struggling just as much as you are.

Generosity: even when it is tempting to hide from your kids in your bedroom or sit on the sofa with your phone, offering your time and energy is a generous thing. Try to be selfless and generous with your offering of attention to your kids. It is rewarding to both sides!

Gratitude: Be thankful and appreciative of what you have instead of focusing on what the lockdown has taken away from you. Extra-time with your children; no after-school activities; Fewer rush hours, and parking issues. You name it!

Lock-down is not just a restriction. It is an opportunity.
Enjoy it while it lasts.
And thank you for being a good kiwi and remaining at home with your loved ones.

I am excited to announce that Space of Mind is up and running. After a few months of working our way through the technology and security required, we have started our clinic this year.

We are already providing services to children, adolescents and their families all over the country. With a unique approach and video-based services, we are able to offer services where Child Psychiatry services are less accessible.
All the way from the tip of the North Island and down to Stewart Island, Space of Mind is available to support you and your family.
