What is soap? Real soap, by definition? Soap is a fatty acid salt. To make soap must emulsify an alkaline solution (lye) with fats/oils such as goat milk, coconut oil, olive oil etc. This cause saponification. Saponification is just the chemical reaction between the alkali (lye) and the fats (oils). Saponification results in the salts of fatty acids and a humectant "glycerin". Sodium Hydroxide (lye) is used to make hard soap where Potassium Hydroxide lye is used to make liquid soap.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗦𝗼𝗮𝗽 𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗲:

- it takes 24-48hrs hours for the saponification process to be finished.
- Cold processed soap take about 4-8 week for soap cure (drying).
- There will be no remaining lye in finished bars of product.

Real Soap or Genuine soap is 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐢𝐥/𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐚𝐥𝐢 most commonly used is sodium hydroxide known as lye or caustic soda. Saponification process happen when Oils/fats (fatty acids) come into contact with lye, literally mean "turning into soap". Glycerin naturally by-product by saponification process. Glycerin is a humectant, a substance that allows the skin to retain moisture. it can increase skin hydration, relieves dryness. it also an emollient it can soften skin.
