This is a unique opportunity to see how the built Mercedes vans work. If you have followed my posts then you know that Jesus te Ama provided some money to build out a van for weekend evangelistic events. One such van is out in the countryside doing evangelistic events numerous times a week. It is neat to see how the money has been spent and witness an event and the unique design of the vehicle. A lot bigger than I imagined.

I am fortunate to watch another event featuring Gaspar and his wife. This is another illegal settlement but the church is on legal ground. This is a satellite church, from a church in a neighborhood that is one hour away. They operate a commodores once a week on Thursday. I think I have some really nice pictures but my heart is heavy because this neighborhood is representative of so many other indigenous areas of Paraguay- it seems like there is no hope....

Not surprisingly I have found my way to seeing a Commodores (nutrition station) again. The ladies start preparing the meal for about 120 kids at about 9 in the morning to be served around 11:40 am. They go over some memory verses, sing some songs and then provide the meal. The three ladies do this 4 times each week. The location of the commodores lies between the houses of two of the ladies....

It’s about 4 in the afternoon and time for a special event on Children's Day. This church is rather poorly located in a more commercial area. With a congregation of 25-30, most are elderly (like me). Late Monday afternoon I attended a second event. This one featured a Jesus Responde team member who is both a clown and a puppeteer. His Gospel story focused around the red water for a heart that later turns clear. This also was sponsored by a local church which has 25-30 kids, but for this event we counted about 120 kids, obviously most kids were from the community. They also received some cookies and a gift from the church.

Monday started off with a bang. This is the first real children’s event that we (Jesus te Ama Ministries) are sponsoring that I have been able to observe. This husband and wife team from Jesus Responde have worked together with the pastor of a local church. The bouncy castles are provided by him personally. Then he does a variety of activities with kids before presenting them with the Gospel using the cardboard cubes you see in the picture....

They arrive and leave by bus. Children from each group recite a Scripture verse he/she has memorized, as well as saying a prayer. Well I am on my way to Paraguay for 12 days. I am sure looking forward to seeing some of the events we have sponsored! I am travelling light, no checked bags. I want to take a moment to highlight what Marianne does as a ministry all year round, mainly shoe boxes of stuff for girls and boys via Samaritan's Purse. Sometimes I get asked, how much do the Jesus Te Ama booklets cost? The simple answer is the printing cost is $1.00 per copy. (Shipping and other costs are are not included in this.) So how are these costs covered? Generally I let individuals and organizations know that my costs are $1.00 per booklet plus shipping expenses. Some individuals and organizations are able to cover these costs, others struggle to find room in their budget to fully pay for the booklets, particularly large orders. [ 107 more words ]

Dear Friends and Family, One of my goals for this year is to increase the number of Jesus Te Ama books being distributed. To that end I know that I need to increase my exposure and contacts. So this past weekend I went to Missions Fest in Vancouver and was able to man a booth for a few hours. During that time I was able to pick up six fairly strong contacts and gave out many sample copies. From that I currently have a request for 100 Spanish books, a large kindergarten book and 1000 English copies! Praise God!
