Meet Coach Declan Kearney!
At 24 years old, Declan was announced as APU's pitching coach. When you hear his background, you begin to understand what APU saw in him...
Declan pitched for the University of Oregon from 2016-17 before transferring to Azusa Pacific University (2018-22). He earned Titleist Performance Institute's (TPI) OnBaseU Pitching Certification and coached camps for FCA during his time as a student-athlete. Declan trained and learned from high end private coaches from 108 Performance & Tread Athletics.
"My coaching style is doing what’s best for the players and their individual development. Throughout my baseball career, I’ve garnered the skills, experience, and passion for starting a youth team. Together, Casey and I want to share our combined knowledge to help kids play their best at the next level – which is Evolve’s mission. Through an athletic screening and video analysis, I will evaluate the pitcher’s movements which will help me create a healthier throwing pattern and path forward towards their future in baseball. Casey and I are here to create a fun atmosphere that is encouraging but challenging, intending to stimulate individual growth." -Declan Kearney
