'The Blueprint Framework aims to guide federal government climate change policy to ensure that, as well as reducing greenhouse emissions, it supports people and communities experiencing disadvantage and increases their resilience to climate change impacts.This approach will help build public support for a faster transition to net zero emissions.'

Professor Turton is an Adjunct Professor of Environmental Geography at Central Queensland University with many impressive academic achievements! Steve was an Expert Reviewer for the IPCC's 5th and 6th Assessment Reports, Working Group 2 (Impacts and Adaptation) and his latest book, "Surviving the Climate Crisis: Australian Perspectives and Solutions" was published in January 2023.

Extreme weather events, such as floods, droughts, storms and wildfires, are becoming more frequent and severe and affect our mental health in a multitude of ways. This article from The Conversation outlines some of the ways it is likely to have an impact and suggests that – in addition to addressing climate change more broadly – we need strategies that focus health-related policies more on broadscale health promotion, including community-led mental health support.”
