Over the last six years, I have worked hard to reveal my own personal power.⁠

I thought my nutrition was the problem, but I was wrong...⁠

I was training 3-4 times a week and was never happy with the results. Every time I passed a mirror, I was checking my progress.⁠

What I've seen in the mirror?⁠

Nothing.⁠

It frustrated me that doing so much left me with nothing. ⁠

And every time the frustration got me, I started to change something up with my nutrition. ⁠

I must be eating too many carbs. ⁠🍌⁠
I must be eating too much meat. ⁠🥩⁠
I must be eating too late at night. ⁠⏰⁠
I must be eating too much sugar. ⁠🍥⁠
I must be eating too many calories. ⁠📈⁠
Or too little?⁠

My nutrition was far away from being perfectly on point. ⁠
⁠But the biggest problem was that I was not even close to training progressively.⁠

I didn't follow a structured plan. ⁠
I was only smashing one workout after the other hoping that my body will transform. ⁠

I want to prevent you from making the same mistakes as I did and remind you again, and again, and again...⁠

If you aren't training with intensity and effort your body will not change. ⁠

The problem is not the food.⁠

It's not the sugar, it's not the gluten, it's not the dairy, it's not the fats, it's not the carbs, it's not the proteins, it's not the soda, it's not the chocolate.⁠

It's:⁠

👉 a lack of education⁠
👉 a lack of fitness⁠
👉 a lack of personal responsibility⁠
👉 bad use of marketing⁠
👉 dishonesty⁠
👉 too much dogma & too little discernment⁠

Don't make this common mistake:⁠

Not Tracking Alcohol Into Your Macros!⁠

If you want to hit your daily macro goals, and you are having your glass of wine (or two) you might end up with some macros left for the day. 🍷⁠

Sounds good, right?⁠

You end up eating the rest of your macros to fulfill your daily macro target.

But somehow the results are not showing up as expected. 🧐⁠

What you didn't realize is that when you are tracking alcohol, it will take away calories but NOT macros. 🤷‍♀️⁠

It will help you not accidentally overshoot your calorie target.😉

The 6-12-25 method, popularized by Charles Poliquin, helps promote fat loss while sparing muscle mass.

With this method you do three exercises in a row for the same muscle group using minimal rest between those exercises. Hello pump! 🔥💪🏼

6️⃣ REPS

On the first exercise, you do 6 reps. But don’t choose your 6RM weight. Let it be something around 8-10RM load.
We want to make it heavy, but don’t take it to failure as you need to keep on going after this exercise. 💥

1️⃣2️⃣ REPS

You‘ll use lighter weight than your normal loads here as if it was a stand-alone exercise. That‘s because the relatively heavy first exercise will lead you to experience higher levels of metabolic stress. 🔥🔥🔥

2️⃣5️⃣ REPS

This high-intensity effort comes at the end of this triple-set. This means potentiation and metabolic stress are higher, but so is the onset of fatigue, which means you‘ll likely be using a much lighter load than normal. 🥵

If you are an experienced lifter and you want to get strength, hypertrophy, and volume in under 30 min, this is your way to go. 😏

This triple-set massively increases the time under tension for one muscle group, and calorie burn overall.

It was the missing piece for me…

I spent over 4 years going through non-personalized programs that didn’t allow me to transform my body the way I wanted.

The missing piece was someone by my side who could tell me:

When I started my fitness journey a few years back, I felt lonely...⁠
⁠⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
All I wanted to do was to change my look & become the sporty chick - get strong and look cool.⁠
⁠⠀⠀⠀⁠
But a lot of my friends & my family did not really understand and I felt a lack of support.⁠
⁠⠀⠀⠀⁠
Worse, sometimes it felt like they tried to prevent me from reaching my goals.⁠
⁠⠀⠀⠀⁠
It was hard, but I pushed through (thanks to my stubborn & perfectionistic self).⁠
⁠⠀⠀⠀⁠
I searched for support.⁠ 🕵🏼⁠
⁠⠀⠀⠀⁠
I hired coaches & searched for like-minded people.⁠ 👩‍👩‍👧‍👧⁠

Most of the girls I work with, and a lot of those who follow me on Instagram, are overachievers.⁠

They naturally think that more is better because working hard is part of their work ethic.⁠

More volume is only good if you can recover from it, though. ⁠
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
If you're not progressing as fast as you'd like, maybe it is because you're doing too much.⁠
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
Below you can find some signs and symptoms of overtraining:⁠

🛑 reduced appetite and weight loss⁠
🛑 restlessness and a lack of concentration⁠

🛑 feeling excessively drained⁠

I remember myself back in 2018...⁠

I wanted it ALL. ⁠
⁠⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
I was rushing from one goal to the other but never achieving even one of them.⁠
⁠⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
Do you know that feeling?⁠
⁠⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
Trying to be ALL IN only to realize that in the end, you achieved NOTHING?⁠
⁠⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
That you are only more frustrated than before?⁠
⁠⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
I have.⁠
Multiple times in the past years.⁠
⁠⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
But then I realized that jumping from one fancy goal/program/fad diet to the next helped me avoid facing my insecurities.⁠

That it was easier to set a new goal and start a new program than to actually commit to ONE goal and then do the work.⁠
⁠⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
So I promised myself to finally do just that: commit to my goal and grow.⁠
⁠⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
Yes, changing is uncomfortable and scary.⁠
⁠⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
You will need to change⁠
✨ how you train⁠
✨ how you eat⁠
✨ how you prioritize yourself⁠
✨ how you speak to yourself, and even⁠
✨ how you think.⁠
⁠⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
But if you are really here for the long-lasting results and you want to become your strongest self - mentally and physically - you'll need to do the hard work and get into discomfort.⁠

Six years ago it's all I ever wanted...⁠
⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⠀⠀⁠
Losing body fat and, once achieved, staying there. ⁠
⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⠀⠀⁠
But being slimmer didn't give me the 'toned' look I was striving for. ⁠
⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⠀⠀⁠
And I realized the following...⁠

For a long time, I didn’t even realize which impact training had on all other areas of my life.⁠
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
And I can’t even remember when I had this epiphany moment.⁠
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠
But strength training became something that was more than just moving my body and pumping my muscles.⁠

Strength training became a commitment to a never-ending improvement.⁠

100kg.⁠

Or 100kg and a boo-tey, I should say (because I definitely don’t look like a cubic square of bulky human mass, nor like a shorter version of a pro-bodybuilder on steroids).⁠

And this three-digit number is not my body weight, but what I lifted from the floor.⁠

Do you know how it feels? Do you know what it’s like to fight your way up, feeling the bar pulling on your skin between your hands like it wants to rip you apart?⁠

But you keep on fighting, with almost twice your body weight in your hands, and… you win?⁠

If you don’t know yet: this is empowerment in its purest form.⁠

Not just that one lift, but also the preparation and build-up towards it.⁠

Getting stronger week by week.⁠

Working for months on ends, failing attempts to lift even less than that.⁠

Getting back at it no matter what (not even an 8 months lockdown).⁠

Persistence, willingness to grow and a good plan (shout out to for her coaching) finally got me there.⁠

To be fair, the work I put in this last year to achieve this didn’t really feel like work.⁠

Because the “hard” work was already done long before that.⁠

I had already the routing of training down.⁠

I was already fueling my body to get both the look and the performance.⁠

I had already said “bye bye” to the people that were forcing their narrow-minded view on my journey (yes, strength training is also good for women).⁠

I had already invested too much of my free time running like a rabbit because you need cardio to burn fat (you don’t).⁠

I had already kept away from strength training because it makes you bulky (it doesn’t).⁠

I had already cut out one food group after the other because of insulin, detox, blood type, and metabolism (yours is most likely not broken like mine wasn’t).⁠

I had already tried to freeze my legs to get them to shrink, only to see that it doesn’t work.⁠

This was only possible because I got the right guidance and I applied what my amazing coaches told me.⁠ 🤓

Elena started the coaching with Women Strength Society in April 2021. Although she already had 10 years of training experience, she wasn't getting the results she worked hard for.
⠀⠀
We went straight into a fat loss phase and prepared her for her first photo shoot, which she did last September. Yay! 🥳📸

Currently, we are pushing her calories, especially carbs, up again and are starting her building phase. Her coach .thereforeiam is taking care of increasing the training intensity and pushing Elena to the next level. 🏋🏼‍♀️

In the last months, she not only improved her training technique but also got stronger and hit some new PB's which you can see in the post. 💪🏼

On top of her very tight schedule as a hard-working woman, she also did her Personal and Fitness Trainer Certification this year. 🥂
