LET THE EARTH BREATHE!

Climate scientists around the world have been arrested simply because of peacefully protesting and informing people of the impending effects of the climate crisis.

Data from science shows—the latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change—that we only have 3-5 years of preventing the irreversible effects of the climate crisis.

Typhoon Ulysses (2020), Supertyphoon Odette (2021), and Typhoon Agaton (2022) were only the beginning for the Filipino people’s rough 2020s. It’s not going to get any better soon.

We call upon everyone to make micro changes in their lifestyle to create a macro impact to the world. Every effort that you make, counts.

We call upon the government to hold yourselves accountable by pushing for better implementation of the existing environmental laws here in the Philippines. Do your part in the implementation and creation of sustainable and eco-friendly policies. Ready your respective Local Climate Change Action Plans (LCCAPs) now!

We also call upon our candidates for the May national and local elections to seriously heed the call of climate action. Your administrations will not see the end of 2028 if you treat this as a joke!

Lastly, we call upon our capitalist corporations to stop the utilization of fossil fuels in the production of single-use plastic that would rot long after we will!

Please, just let the earth breathe.

'I live in a world that's nearing the end; but I believe in the restoration that's about to begin"

Imagine a world without trees, would you dare live in it?

Would you be able to imagine it's ecosystem if it actually has one?

Would you want to continue with your life if it was happening now?

The forests and greens in our planet give us the oxygen that we need to breath and to keep growing. The trees give us oxygen that's like a safe dome that we could all live in and breath in, protecting us from pollution and giving us everything that we need from food to our homes. But what's happening now are multiple deforestations, illegal loggings and other vicious acts done towards our forests. Continue reading to learn more and give help in protecting and restoring our forests and ecosystem.

As we've all said "prevention is better than cure". We better start today than wait for tomorrow.

"It is not acceptable that we continue to see thousands of acres burn because of forest fires, because of poor management on our forests, big kill, and we have these catastrophic situations take place when we are not able to take action."
— Cathy McMorris Rodgers

There are several things that occur naturally in woods. Natural wildfires may be triggered by the sun's heat or a lightning strike, but they are essential. Just like the process of life in humans, animals, and plants, death of the old forest comes the birth of the new. Check out the subjects below for further information about wildfires and why they are important.🔥

Most of us have been rendered into a position of admiration by the delicate and fleeting beauty of the Cherry Blossoms in numerous instances. Known as "Sakura" in Japanese, the Cherry Blossom is branded as Japan’s national flower. The Japanese people gather in April during the spring of every year to watch the Sakura bloom and observe how the Cherry Blossoms begin to fall from the Cherry Blossom Tree that provides a reflecting reminder of life’s ephemerality.🌸

One can only cite more than enough bases to justify the pulchritude of this flower-bearing tree that anyone would wish to experience and witness in their immediate vicinity. Given that, the question of “Can we plant and grow Cherry Blossoms in the Philippines?” is a foreseeable query. Sadly, the answer to that is no. Here are the reasons as to why:🤔

For decades, the concept of talking trees has fascinated people's imaginations. Although trees are unable to communicate with humans, it has been shown that they can communicate with one another. You might be wondering "What do trees speak about?"🧏‍♀️ Trees communicate with one another by forming underground symbiotic relationships with a fungus called mycorrhizae in order to convey stress signals and exchange nutrients.🌲

Scroll through the pictures to discover more about how trees secretly talk to each other.🗣

Trees are very essential especially to the cities. Having no trees in the cities are unimaginable, there are many bad effects. So why cut trees to replace it with infrastructures? 🤔

The Philippines is home to some of the world's rarest animals. “You will be surrounded by nature wherever you go in the Philippines,” Mejia says. “There will be different species on each island you visit.” Protecting those endangered species is our responsibility, for their sake and for the sake of the future generations.🦅

There have always been animals since the dawn of time. Animals have inhabited nearly every inch of the globe for thousands of years. Because man has overpopulated the planet, animal populations have plummeted. There are several species that have gone extinct, as well as those that are on the verge of doing so. Thousands of species are being dismembered every day, especially in our very own country, the Philippines. For nature is dwindling, the environment has become less appealing. The absence of these wild animals has ruined not just their own lives, but also the lives of humans.

So, let’s all be aware and save these animals 🤍💚

"All plants, trees, landscape, and certainly all animals, make up a one huge system that describes the world; consequently, from the whole system arises all kinds of subsystems that further enrich whatever description we have of it. The diversity is near endless. Nature, in its superior creativity, is endless." 🌿

It is therefore our duty and given purpose, as haven risen to be the topmost species, to safeguard and nurture such endless diversity. Adjacently, it is in our best wishes to fulfill this duty, for it is only in preserving all the exists that we fully understand all that exists. Join us, as we start small in this duty to preserve diversity, by getting to know more about the Philippine's Top Wild Animals. The Philippines’ 7,600-plus islands are the cradle for a mind-boggling number of diverse species. According to the Convention on Biological Diversity, 5 percent of the world’s plant species live in the Philippines. And nearly half of the creatures found on these islands exist nowhere else. Philippines is indeed a country blessed with abundant unique species of plants and wildlife as well.🐗

Healthy ecosystems allow us to survive, get enough food to eat and make a living. When species disappear or fall in number, ecosystems and people suffer. When we protect animals and plants, we also protect the ecosystems that underlie our economies and well-being.☺

The trees that stand tall and deeply entrenched in the grounds contribute vitality and beauty to our planet, making it green.🍃 Trees grow all over the world, but their types vary due to factors such as humidity, temperature, rainfall patterns, and so on; thus, there are different types of forests, such as Mountain forests, Tropical rain forests, Boreal coniferous forests, Temperate broadleaf deciduous forests, Mangroves, Tropical dry forests and woodlands, and Subtropical dry forests.😮 To learn more about these forests…

The environment is important for human existence. It is critical to have some legislation in place to safeguard the environment. Environmental laws give a framework within which we can effectively care for the environment. 🙆‍♀️

All environmental laws issued and mandated in our country ensure that they are followed when it comes to taking care of the environment and maintaining a balance between humanity and nature. Environmental law examines all aspects of a country's economy, production, and industry in order to analyze the influence on the environment and create rules to mitigate environmental harm. 💯

Here are some forestry-related DENR policies and how important they are in protecting, rehabilitating, developing, and managing our cherished forest lands! 💚

In tree planting's most case scenarios, the quality of the seedlings is not the main priority for as long as the needed quantity is met. The goal is to generate or enhance an ecosystem’s functionality. Yet, the objective can only be achieved when the planted seedlings grow into trees.🌳

Tree planting must be the beginning of the course of action. It does not end there. After-planting care should be given as much importance as planting the seedlings. Through this, we can guarantee that the tree planting activity is not a waste of time, energy, and effort. As long as the planted seedlings mature and grow into a tree, the goal is achieved.✅

A forest is a highly organized system in which the dominant elements are plants, particularly trees, which form a canopy cover and serve as major constituent species, as well as animals and their habitats.🌳The forest's multi-layered structure, which is the result of varied levels of sunlight reaching the understory layer, is linked to a wide range of life types.🌱Forests perform a great number of functions, both as a natural formation and as a product of skillful human activity, when nature is harnessed to fulfil people's own needs.🤗

Here are some functions of forests you probably didn’t know… until now👀

"The future of the planet concerns all of us, and all of us should do what we can to protect it. As I told the foresters, and the women, you don't need a diploma to plant a tree."
- Wangari Maathai

It is of the essence to safekeep our forests and to be aware of their significance to us, humans, and all life sustained by it. The forests are responsible for a lot of things. Not only are they considered as the earth’s lungs, but they also serve as a shelter for creatures, source of our livelihood, aids in flood mitigation, and more!
