I did get some really good tips so I’m sharing!!

1. Water regularly: Mums need consistent moisture, so make sure to water them regularly. Check the soil moisture level and water whenever the top inch of soil feels dry.

2. Provide adequate drainage: Ensure that the pots or containers have proper drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.

3. Choose the right location: Mums thrive in full sun, so place them in a spot that receives at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day.

4. Fertilize appropriately: Use a balanced fertilizer or a slow-release fertilizer specifically formulated for flowering plants.

8. Mulch the soil: Apply a layer of organic mulch around the base of the plant to conserve moisture, regulate soil temperature, and suppress w**d growth. This will help keep the mums healthy and thriving.

Ok, you all know I am hooked on my braids! The ease of daily styling has made this my go to protective style for months now. While I enjoy the ease, it’s also important to ensure my scalp and hair are remaining healthy!

One of my favorite quotes is by Albert Einstein, “If I were to remain silent, I'd be guilty of complicity.” It’s a reminder that positive change is a the responsibility of us all. I actually have a love/hate relationship with calendars 😆!! I buy these beautiful planners, pens, and stickers; only to use it a few times out the year. Sometimes I even get frustrated with what I’ve added to the planner (like the actual plans lol) and I no longer like the planner as a whole!! Ugh, I’m strange right 😂!!

Either way, I’ve gotten a little better and I’m sharing some of my favorite tips to help you actually stick to your brand new planner!! Sticking to your daily plannebe a great way to stay organized and on top of tasks. Y’all know we’re Thriving this year!!

Here are some tips that may help:

1. Set realistic goals and create a plan that works for you. Not one that’s just aesthetically pleasing on paper.
2. Prioritize tasks that need to be done and break them into smaller, manageable chunks.
3. Outside of scheduling; use your calendar to track progress and set reminders.
4. Reward yourself when you finish something on your planner.
5. Embrace the changes, mistakes, and nuisances! It’s what makes your planner…yours!!
6. Don’t be afraid to adjust your plans if something isn’t working.
7. Most importantly, be kind and patient with yourself. ❤️Consistency takes work and practice.

Word of the year: Thrive!! ✨

I’ve finally nestled into my “word” of the year and I’m pretty excited about it! I believe it’s the perfect balance of motivation and responsibility. Psalm 92:12 promises, “The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree.” It’ll be my personal reminder throughout the year in many sectors of life. Success isn’t the result of perfection. It’s the result of hard work, learning from failures, loyalty, and persistence. I’ll do my part and have faith in the results!!

While I know some may roll their eyes at the idea of a “word of the year” or “the act of completing a vision board”; if it’s something that motivates you personally; I say GO FOR IT!! It's a great way to set a positive mindset and focus on an intention you want to achieve this year.

When choosing your word, take time to consider what matters most to you and what you would like to achieve. Think about how you want to feel and what you want to accomplish. You could pick a word that reflects a goal you want to achieve, a positive emotion you want to cultivate, or a quality you want to focus on. Whatever you decide, make sure it resonates with you, and that it is something you can actively work on throughout the year. Got get ‘em!

Now on to the books 😆!! Have you read the newest release by Michelle Obama; The Light We Carry? It’s on my list of reads this month and I’m really enjoying so far. I’m enjoying her vulnerability and insights along the read. The book also contains a Resource Section that includes Mental Health Helplines, Resource Referrals, and Finding and Paying For Therapy. You’ll be using your highlighter for this one!
