Some of the soap creations of Philippine Science High School students, Southern Mindanao Campus whom I mentored last March 22. This was their practical application of the principles behind saponification, a topic in their Organic Chemistry subject. Well done Girls and Boys! Special thanks to Dr. Rochelle Papasin, who invited me to handle this workshop, to Gian who assisted in the activity and TJ, who made sure all the necessary lab wares were available. These 3 lovely ladies are the pioneers of the Artisanal Candle Making here in Davao City. Their creations, especially the colors they choose represent their personalities. But the underlying objective one has on their minds when they decided to join the workshop are achieved, again, as manifested by the output they made. It was challenging in terms of unmolding their candles and the time allotted for the workshop, yet it was a HUGE SUCCESS. Thanks Abby, Jane and Stella.
