Everyone needs to have good credit, but are you aware how to structure your credit report?
1) Payment History= 100%
2) Credit Utilization ( amount owed vs amount available ) = 30% goal should be 10%
3) Length of Credit History= 2-3 yrs goal should be 5yrs
4) Inquires= 2-3 over 3yrs
Your goal should be 3 over a
5yr period of time.
5) Active accounts= 5 or more positive accounts goal should be 10 positive accounts.
6) Derogatory accounts= 0
7) New Credit= Every 6 months
If you are just starting off you can be more aggressive depending on your goals.

I know that a number of you are aware of the credit utilization being 30% of your credit limit on each credit card. But here is a very valuable tip for you. Anything over the 30% will drop your score. But to increase your credit score, creditors want you to be 10% or less. Example you are given a credit card with a $1,000.00 credit limit, you should not use anymore than $100 on this credit card. If you are over your utilization on your credit limits then most credit will not be willing to trust you with higher limits. Keep your utilization low and watch your credit score increase. Make sure that you have a diversity of Types of accounts on your credit report.
1) Revolving Credit- credit cards
2) Installment Credit- auto loan, mortgage
3) utilities, phone bill
Remember how your credit is determined.
A) Payment History= 35%
B) Amount Owed= 30%
C) Length of Credit History= 15%
D) New Credit= 10%
E) Types of Credit= 10%
Total of 100% makes up your credit score.
