"Tick Alert: The Quest for Saftey," is designed to enrich the development of educational and prevention skills in our youth so that they can protect themselves against the ever-growing incidence of tick-borne disease.
We hope to see you there!

From the Article:
Ehrlichiosis
“The lone star tick and blacklegged tick can carry the bacteria E. chaffeensis, E. ewingii or E. muris eauclairensis and transmit them through a bite, causing ehrlichiosis, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Lone star ticks live in the south, central and eastern part of the United States, and blacklegged ticks live in the eastern half of the U.S., from Maine to east Texas.
Typically, ehrlichiosis only causes severe illness if antibiotic treatment is delayed, which can lead to organ failure and death. The immune system condition that caused Aiden's seizures and other neurological issues is rare, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine.”

Boy, 6, had a mystery headache, then was screaming in pain. It was from a tick bite When Aiden complained of headaches and developed a fever, his parents felt worried. At hospital, he quickly deteriorated, experiencing a 6.5 hour seizure.
Just terrible! This is why we work hard to educate the youth and the parents.

The Quiet Epidemic is NOW STREAMING on AppleTV, Prime Video and Vimeo On Demand! Please share this news far and wide, and visit thequietepidemic.com to easily access all streaming platforms.
The Quiet Epidemic was just #10 in the Top Documentary category on AppleTV/iTunes—every view helps! If you’ve already seen The Quiet Epidemic at a film festival or theatrical screening, please consider renting the film to help boost it on the streaming platforms.
On this special day, we want to take this moment to remind everyone why we made this film. We made The Quiet Epidemic to reach the masses—to break out far beyond the Lyme community. Our goal is to reach people who know nothing about Lyme disease—the people who are at risk, the family and friends who don't understand, and the medical community that doesn’t believe.
For those of you who are currently struggling, if the content of the film might be triggering for you, you can still help by spreading the word. You now have a tool at your disposal to share with anyone who doesn't understand what you're going through. You no longer need to spend your energy explaining why Lyme disease is controversial, why insurance doesn’t cover long-term care, or why a Lyme test result can be a false negative.
Thank you all for your continued support. Many of you are bravely sharing your experiences with our team and your communities—some of you for the first time. You are not alone, and your story matters. By sharing our stories—both personal and collective—The Quiet Epidemic will no longer be quiet. It’s time to move this public health crisis out of the shadows!
