Today, June 27, marks the 12th anniversary of the loss of 1LT Stephen “Chase” Prasnicki, who was KIA in Wardak Province, Afghanistan. The Prasnicki and Ross families have shared a deep bond for decades as the children grew up together in the small town of Lexington, VA. Chase and Drew were just a year apart at West Point, sharing countless memories and experiences.

In honor of Chase’s memory and his enduring legacy, Drew wrote a special CrossFit workout named “Chase,” which we are sharing today. We invite everyone to participate in this workout as a tribute to Chase and his heroic sacrifice.

Join us in remembering Chase and celebrating the strength, courage, and dedication he embodied. We are forever grateful for his service and the ultimate sacrifice he made for our freedom. We miss him dearly.

We are so moved by the number of people who came out to participate in our ruck today! We couldn’t have done this without our amazing volunteers!!! We are both tired and motivated for the next one!!!

On this Memorial Day, we reflect on what it means to remember and honor those who gave their all for our freedom. For many years, our family observed Memorial Day from the outside looking in. We saw the solemn ceremonies, the folded flags, and the tears of families who had lost their loved ones in war. We empathized, but we did not truly understand.

Today, we are no longer on the outside. We have joined the ranks of those who know the pain of losing a son, daughter, sibling, or friend to the sacrifice of service. The memories we hold are precious, but they come with a gaping hole in our hearts and lives that can never be filled. The laughter that once filled our homes is now a cherished echo.

As you gather with family and friends today, enjoying barbecues, parades, and the warmth of togetherness, we ask you to take a moment to reflect. Reflect on the lives of the men and women who fought and died for the freedoms we enjoy. Celebrate their lives, for they fought not just for their own families, but for all of us.

Our loved ones gave their all so we could have the chance to live fully and freely. Let us honor them by cherishing these moments, by remembering their courage, and by committing to live in a way that is worthy of their sacrifice. From our hearts, we challenge you to embrace this day with gratitude and reflection.

This Memorial Day, we at the Drew Ross Memorial Foundation, remember and honor the brave men and women who have sacrificed everything for our country, especially Drew, whose legacy is forever enshrined at the entrance of Dollywood Theme Park.

In 2018, Dollywood placed a special memorial for Drew, a tribute to his bravery and dedication. Today, it stands adorned with a beautiful wreath, a poignant reminder of his ultimate sacrifice and the freedom it protects.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Dollywood family for commemorating Drew in such a profound way. Your love and support mean the world to us.
