Friends of Sudbury Gasworks creates and runs fundraising events for Sudbury Gasworks.

The Gasworks Sudbury has three vacancies for new trustees. We’re looking for people with expertise in finance, marketing and HR to work as part of a cohesive and focused team to develop and take forward the next stages of the business plan.

Thanks so much to everyone who supported our Long Table BBQ lunch today and thank you to an amazing group of volunteers and trustees who shopped, cooked, served and washed up! Such a lovely event and glad to see everyone chatting and catching up.
We’re looking forward to our Long Table BBQ lunch on Sunday. Guests will be welcomed with summer punch on arrival. Butter boards ( as in picture!) and crusty bread on the table. Our guest chef for the day, Chris Scarratt from New Farm Catering will cook Moroccan chicken, burgers and sausages from Staffordshire Farm Meats, home made coleslaw, home grown green salad, and lots more. A table full of home made desserts such as cherry cheesecake, limoncello and tangerine trifle, Nutella mousse, lemon possett, fresh strawberries and meringues will follow! There are a few tickets left if you’d like to join us get in touch by 5pm tomorrow. Friday.
As well as the amazing artwork at Derbyshire Open Arts this weekend we have homemade cake and an array of unusual tomato plants. Cherokee Purple, Roma Plum and Yellow Pear Cherry to name a few! 6 for £12

We’re looking forward to hosting some amazing artists over the weekend as part of Derbyshire Open Arts. Home made cake, refreshments and plants too! We’d love to see you! We’ll be there on Saturday, Sunday and Monday serving from 10.30am until 3.30pm. Open Arts is open from 10am until 4pm.

Some members of the Sudbury Local History Group will be at the Gasworks tomorrow between 10 and 3 in hope of past pupils of Sudbury School dropping in to share their memories and any photos they might have from their school days.
We plan to make the next Gasworks exhibition all about the School and its history, and so all ex-pupils have a big contribution to make...if they are willing to share
their memories with us.
The bonus for going along tomorrow is the plant fair which is also being held outside the Gasworks...plus the opportunity to enjoy cake and coffee and meet people you might not have seen for a while!
PS: The History team won't need to keep your photos..the photos can be digitised and saved in the Group's archive.
There’s lots of baking going on today ready for our Plant Sale and Open Day tomorrow. 10am until 3pm at Sudbury Gasworks..As well as plants, we’ll have a garden themed tombola, lunchtime sausage sizzle and home made cakes and savouries. The local history group will be there too. If you have any Sudbury school photos bring them along. Hope to see you there!

We’re looking forward to our evening of Two One Act Plays….performed by A50 Theatre. Due to a hiccup with our alcohol licence we will only be serving soft drinks so have a glass of wine before you come! We have a lovely range of soft drinks such as Sparkling Elderflower with lime and mint, Orange Juice with fresh orange slices as well as 0% beer and wine. Cash payment would be really appreciated.

Friends of the Wellies Project Wellies Project have been busy making beautiful door wreaths and allsorts of floral creations today for the Friends of Sudbury Gasworks Christmas raffle. A group volunteering project. Absolutely amazing peices. It’s not too late to get tickets. Nearly 60 prizes
More Christmas Raffle prizes have come in today. Thank you so much to Sudbury seasons in the old butchers shop at Sudbury for their kind donation of a non drop Nordman Christmas tree of your choice. Their lovely fresh trees have arrived and are on sale now. Thanks to The Round House Gallery Foston for their generous donation of a £50 voucher for a piece of Phil’s pottery. The draw will take place tomorrow and it’s not too late to get tickets!

Friends of Sudbury Gasworks
Friends of Sudbury Gasworks has been set up to promote and share upcoming events to raise money for the Sudbury Gasworks Restoration Trust (SGRT).
Sudbury Gasworks Restoration Trust (SGRT), established in 2013, is a group of volunteers local to Sudbury, who are working to restore the village’s old gasworks building to create a flexible, vibrant and accessible community facility.
