Go vote today!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted. To be honest, I need to focus on my teenagers before I enter the race again. Once they graduate, I’ll reconsider. The point, for today, GO VOTE!! See comments for links to ballot info and polling location checks.

Shrewsbury Nights sponsored by SARC (Shrewsbury Anti Racism Collective via a generous member of the group). We met many and had a few conversations too!! Check out the cool brochures, in the pictures, that SARC put together to hand out to interested community members.
It’s that time of year where we at SARC (Shrewsbury Anti-Racism Collective) have the opportunity to remind our neighbors that all are welcome in Shrewsbury.
So dust off your signs, create new ones, and be prepared to do your best penguins of Madagascar impression (just smile and wave boys).
Every Wednesday, 6-7pm SARC will be hosting our silent witness at the corners of Laclede Station Rd and Murdoch every Wednesday. Spread the word, share the love.
Thank you to those who encouraged me to run and supported me in those efforts. Thank you to all of those who voted for me. I feel so lucky to have received the votes I did and that so many took a chance to vote for me. Thank you so much and I’ll see you at next year’s election cycle.

WRITE IN: A. Berin for Ward 1.
As alderperson I’d like to see more transparency with our city government, frequent updates to the website, listening sessions, and community surveys, continued use of zoom for board meetings with recordings posted for increased transparency and communication.
I’d like to find ways to boost visibility of our camps and recreational activities to bring in more revenue from these activities.
I’d like to help the current Safety Advisory Board be reimagined to include a diverse group of community members and professions.
And most of all I’d like to help make Shrewsbury feel more like “It’s Home” for more of our community members.
A little about me:
I’m a single mother of two teenage girls, both in the Webster Groves school district. I bought a home in Shrewsbury in 2018 and have become involved in the community as soon as I was able.
Pictured: I’m in the middle- the day I closed on my home in Shrewsbury.
I am a founding member of SARC (Shrewsbury Anti Racism Collective) and helped to put together the Wednesday silent witness to show support for our neighbors who identify as BBIPOC. I’ve attended several Board meetings and asked questions of our current board to hold them accountable for their words.
I am currently a worship assistant and member of the Nominating and Leadership Development committee of my church, First Unitarian Church of St. Louis. I was formerly a trustee on the Policy Board and interim Religious Education Director.
I am a High School Social Studies teacher with bachelors degrees in secondary education and history. I am part of the Culturally Responsive Leadership Team at my school and I frequently attend professional trainings that help me in my profession and personally, to be culturally proficient in a diverse world. I’ve had several years of education and trainings on the theory, and practice in, Restorative Justice. I hope to apply this training in all I do.
Hi!
I’m a woman who likes to get things done. I bring fresh eyes to Shrewsbury. I believe that diversity and inclusion are what help us grow and unite us.
In Ward 1 there was only the incumbent running unopposed. So for the sake of choice in elections, I decided to give Ward 1 a choice.
I am the one for Ward 1.
Write in- A. Berin for Ward 1 on April 6th.
