Yoga and new adventures After several years of dipping my toes in real estate I made the leap and became a full-time realtor with a fantastic fully local brokerage. This first year is all about getting the word out and asking my contacts to consider reaching out to me with their real estate questions or referring me to tho...
Outdoor Yoga this September?!?
Hoping to offer a morning class in Montgomery once school is back in session.
Stay tuned and time/day feedback is welcomed!
Mantra is not part of my regular yoga practice. But when things are very chaotic in my physical or mental life then I remember this incredible tool.
I once heard it described as - meditation is like leading a puppy (the mind). Constantly redirecting the puppy (mind). Over here. While mantra is like tying the puppy to a post.
Open eye mediation (from the Shambhala tradition) is usually my go to.
But for now, while things are extra messy I’m closing my eyes, pausing and anchoring my mind with this chant. (I’m not a singer😆 don’t judge:)
🙏☀️❤️
Are you thriving or just surviving? The COVID pandemic has created a concurrent crisis around mental health. We all need to be taking care of each other, but that includes ourselves. This is especially true for healthcare workers. This site from the Colorado Healthcare Ethics Resource Group offers information and resources to help address the anxiety and stress that can, if left unaddressed, deteriorate into crisis. https://cohcwcovidsupport.org/
It’s been over 6 months since I’ve lead a yoga class. It’s been 6 months of accepting what needed to be done to stay safe and I welcomed the break. I haven’t really sat and felt the heart ache of the loss we’ve all endured from this pandemic, whether great or small.
Tonight I stretched out on the mat, in the dim light of my yoga room, and a gentle class playlist set to drown out the sound of children, the tears flowed along with my breath.
I miss teaching. I miss everything about it. I miss drawing stick figure lesson plans and making playlists. I miss the calm of creating a special space and the butterflies while waiting to see who walked in the door. I miss the self doubt followed by the delight of finding my voice and my years of experience and education guiding me as I walk softly, on bare feet, between people who showed. I miss cueing the inhales and exhale and all the subtlety of movement. I miss thinking and speaking about the spine and patterns of thought. I miss the beautiful space and it’s light, smell and resonance of music. I miss all the people who came to class week after week or just popped in from time to time. I miss all the “magic” moments. I just miss teaching yoga and you all.
In honor of my time teaching Tuesday night yoga at the MCA I’m going to continue to play my playlists, pull out my old class notes and get on the mat, even if I just end up crying in child’s pose the whole time.
🙏💜
Please allow yourself to rest.
My practice very much ebbs and flows and sometimes I can’t bring myself to get on my mat or be still. The asana practice always calls me back. These times have brought up so much fear, anger and denial for me lately.
It was a surprise when I laid down my mat, put on an old favorite album and tears flowed and I could touch on the pain and sadness of these last few months as well as hundreds of years in American history.
So every morning I’ve been listening these old soulful songs and getting some release!
Check out this beautiful song- “lord help the poor and needy.”
“Lord, help the Human Race...in these times.”

So sorry, guys!
I got a message from Mellissa just a little while ago saying that the heat isn’t coming on and that I should cancel.
I’m here now and sure enough- it’s cold!
My apologies for the back and forth.
Tuesday night yoga class is cancelled until further notice.
There is a hole in the furnace and the space is unsafe to occupy.
I don’t have any more information at this time.
It’s such a pleasure to practice with you all! I hope the issue can be resolved soon.
I love this space so much!
Thank you everyone who comes out to practice yoga with me🙏
