You are scheduled for an interview. The recruiter says:

"Let's meet at XYZ Hotel. Be there by 10 am."
You say:
"Okay, Sir."

By 9:50 am, he calls you and says:
"I'll be about 30 minutes late. Please feel free to order something to eat while you wait for me."

You are a bit confused. What do you order?
Now, you don't want to appear cheap, and you don't also want to appear greedy.

My advice is this:

It's not time for lunch, and you should have eaten breakfast before leaving your house for the interview. The best thing to do is to order a snack and a bottle of water(take note. A snack, not a whole platter!). If they don't have snacks, you could order a mini salad with a bottle of water.
With this, you are busy, and you don't give him/her the impression that you feel he can't afford to pay for what you ordered.
