Sharing glimpses of the richness of Hadoti:

“Hadoti is a rare repository of many artistic old temples dating from Gupta period to the sixteenth century… About 50 kms south-west from Kota, near Rawatbbhata at ‘Badoli’ stands a group of 9 temples out of which the largest and the most exquisite is the Ghateshwar Mahadev temple. This temple is the finest example of the temple art and architecture in whole of Rajasthan. The idol of “Sheshshai Vishnu” from the group if Badoli temples, is also now being exhibited in the Government Museum at Kota”
[Taken from Dr. Jagat Narayan's ‘The eternal heritage of Hadoti’. p. 10: 2019]

Preserved in a special helium-filled case in the library of the Parliament lies the original Constitution of India. The document is a testament to artistic skills of Shantiniketan. Under the guidance of Nandalal Bose, and hand-calligraphed by Prem Bihari Narain Raizada, the document epitomises rich Indian tradition. Nibs of around 256 calligraphers were involved in completion of this work. This stylised manuscript includes twenty two illustrations, borders in typical Shantiniketan style. Different periods of Indian history are depicted here ranging from Indus valley civilisation era to Vedic period. The Guptas, Mauryas, Mughals are also represented. The miniature style is heavily drawn from Ajanta and Bagh murals.

It was on this day, 26th January 1950, that the Constitution of India came into effect for its people.

Rivers are testament to history, story and magnificence. Kota’s Chambal River is no different and so is the breath-taking Garadia Mahadev. Located on the banks of Chambal River, the beauty around this temple renders one speechless. The magical charm of this site gets enhanced by a few notches when dark clouds fill up the firmament and pour their cooling waters. The Shiva temple rests a few steps from the main viewpoint.
