Art by Nina Bradshaw
Here is a page to showcase my art work. I work in various mediums- from drawings to hand-made felt
This is another cuff I’ve made as part of exploring ideas around the theme of ‘bracelet’ for the challenge. This is a one off piece, but I’m wondering if I should make a matching one to go together with this one. Tell me what you think? Pair or single?
Made from merino wool, recycled sari silk, free-motion embroidery, hand spun yarn and ceramic buttons.
I’m taking part in a challenge from which is themed as “Bracelet”. So I’ve been working on some ideas based on this theme. Here is the first one… I have a few more in progress. I will post more soon.
This piece is made from merino wool and blue faced Leicester locks with recycled sari silk. Embellished with free motion stitching and ceramic buttons.
Let me know what you think.
My miniature daisy picture now has pride of place in a mini gallery!
This is a felt lampshade I made for myself some years ago. I think it sets off my Green Man corner to great effect. I love this piece- the way the light shines through the fibres, and reveals the old lace doily embedded into the fibres. I think it gives an ethereal, fragile effect, yet also shows the resilience of the natural world. 🌍 We could all do with some light in these dark times. ❤️
Here is a close up of the piece from last night’s video. A miniature daisy picture. The second pic is to give a sense of the size.
This is hand felted merino wool with blue faced Leicester locks, free- motion embroidery and hand embroidery.
This item is for sale. Message me for more details.
I made a teeny tiny daisy picture!
Morning walk inspiration.
When I’m not felt-making, I like to crochet. I find it so relaxing and satisfying. This is my latest creation- a hexagon cardigan.
Latest felt piece.
Merino wool, recycled sari silk, old lace doilies and Magellan silk.
I wanted to show my latest work in progress. One of my most popular works is the summer meadow pictures. This is hand felted merino wool with free motion embroidery and I’m now adding some hand embroidery.
I would love to know what you think?
This piece will be available to purchase. Please message me for more details.
Excited to have delivered my first online felt making workshop today with it was a bit of trial and error but this is Marnie’s completed piece.
I’m going to be rolling out theses online workshops soon for you to join- let me know if you’d like to take part in one
As always, I love it when my urban alley yarden starts to bloom! This was all designed by me, and with some help from neighbours and a grant from the council all since lockdown. I think it just shows that it is possible to create a little urban oasis so close to the city. A tiny ecosystem all of its own.
This space gives me so much inspiration for my art works.
Spending time in my garden on this bank holiday weekend. My Green Man is growing a mossy beard!
I find doodling a very mindful and calming activity. I’ve been working a 12 hour shift today, and in the quieter parts of the day, I worked on this. There’s a continuous line through this piece, and some repetitive shapes which draw the whole together.
Let me know what you think.
Playing with pens and pastels today.
Sometimes I like to do something other than felt making!

Hi, I haven’t posted here in a few weeks. I’ve had a few complicated things going on in my life, so I’ve taken a step back from my art for a while. But things are still slowly coming along in the background. I’m loving seeing more signs of spring emerging- here’s some bluebells from a recent walk in one of my favourite places. It’s giving me inspiration for a new project. More details soon!
Latest Work in progress. I think this is something a bit different than my usual, but I quite like how it’s looking. Made from hand felted merino wool with recycled sari silk, tussah silk pulse free motion and hand embroidery.
I’d love to know what you think.

Here’s another of my recent pieces, made in Autumn I think this gives a sense of the decay and chaos that a blustery Autumn day brings. It’s made from hand felted merino wool with blue-faced Leicester locks, a piece of old lace doily and a real skeletal leaf. It is for sale, and will be available on my website soon.
Another piece that will be for sale on my website. Virginia Creeper. This is hand felted merino wool with free motion embroidery. Let me know what you think.
I’m slowly in the process of setting up my website and so I’ve had a photo shoot of my artworks. I will slowly post more over the next weeks.
I’d love to know what you think of my daisies and green man? This pic is taken in my very own back yarden.
Hey, so this is the finished piece with the Freeform hyperbolic crochet I showed in an earlier post. A very organic piece. A tree stump with lichen and fungus.
Let me know what you think…
I’ve been making some details to add to my latest creation. These are made from Freeform hyperbolic crochet…i wonder what they look like to you?
I finally finished this lampshade off and worked out how to photograph it to better effect. This item is for sale- message me for details.
It’s made of merino wool felted with sari silk, tussah silk, hand embroidery and some glass pebbles embedded into the silk. These all create a beautiful and fascinating effect with the light shining through. A truly unique piece sure to add interest in your home.
My latest felt creation. I’m learning more about using resists in my felt making to give the cut/torn effect. I’m going to add layers of stitching to add even more texture. What does this piece bring to mind for you?
On my felting table today. I was going for a sort of bleak wintry feel, the emptiness and washed out feeling that this time of year can often evoke in me.
A sort of solitary space of ambiguity, but perhaps a sense of something new emerging? I’m not sure whether to leave it as is or add some free motion embroidery following the lines of the cuts in the felt- perhaps you have some thoughts about this?
Went to a fantastic solstice art class this evening, here are some of my pieces. Using charcoal, wax resists and prints from them, ink, oil pastels and some other water colours. A very enjoyable evening. Thanks to and
Blessed Solstice
Snowy Night by Mary Oliver
Last night, an owl
in the blue dark
tossed an indeterminate number
of carefully shaped sounds into
the world, in which,
a quarter of a mile away, I happened
to be standing.
I couldn’t tell
which one it was –
the barred or the great-horned
ship of the air –
it was that distant. But, anyway,
aren’t there moments
that are better than knowing something,
and sweeter? Snow was falling,
so much like stars
filling the dark trees
that one could easily imagine
its reason for being was nothing more
than prettiness. I suppose
if this were someone else’s story
they would have insisted on knowing
whatever is knowable – would have hurried
over the fields
to name it – the owl, I mean.
But it’s mine, this poem of the night,
and I just stood there, listening and holding out
my hands to the soft glitter
falling through the air. I love this world,
but not for its answers.
And I wish good luck to the owl,
whatever its name –
and I wish great welcome to the snow,
whatever its severe and comfortless
and beautiful meaning.
Thanks to everyone who has followed or liked my work in the last year. I’m going to be developing my felt making business over the next year and hope to have some exciting things on offer in 2024.
Festive market.
I’m looking forward to having a stall at this event on Sunday. I hope to see some of you there!
