Mrs. Smith's Preschool Chetopa 22-23

I just want to say thank you for allowing me to be your child’s teacher this year! I have enjoyed each and every one and I will surely miss seeing them! I’ll share some videos they made me today at recess. They are the sweetest!

We had such a fun morning exploring the Tulsa Zoo! Thank you to the hornet PAC team for allowing us such a fun experience!

Tomorrow is our field trip! Please arrive between 7:30-7:50 for a departure at 8:00 am sharp!

We took a little trip to the public library today to see Mrs. Angela Davis Forquer. We watched a digital book, colored a picture, played with toys, and learned about the summer program available for kids every Friday!

We celebrated Earth Day today by planting some flowers on our playground area, and releasing our butterflies.

We did a little untraditional Easter egg hunt today. The eggs they found had been broken apart. On the top and bottom we’re either matching letters or numbers. They had to search to find the right match and put the eggs together.

Our caterpillars are beginning their transformation. We have 2 chrysalis’ and 3 hanging in their “J” shape and 3 more at the top ready to hang anytime. We also made our own caterpillars to display in the hallway, and they may begin their transformation soon too!

We spent the afternoon talking about how important Mr. Jack and Mr. Charley are to our school. They maintain our school and grounds. Today we cleaned up the parking lot! Tomorrow we will learn about the custodial ladies and help them out in the cafeteria.

We had such a fun afternoon exploring all the various play stations offered at Curious Minds Discovery. We ended the day with some hornet nest ice cream and sunshine!

The kids are such good sports, they got a special treat today!

As Miss Karley finishes out her teaching degree, she has to do some recorded lessons. Today she enlisted the help of our kids and they had to miss a play station to help. With the help of the amazing ladies at the hornets nest, we enjoyed some ice cream with special hornet colored sprinkles!

We sure were bright on such a dreary day as we celebrated yellow day! We searched for yellow things in magazines, wore yellow, and brought something from home that was yellow!

We celebrated Hudson turning 5! His birthday is during spring break, but we had to celebrate!

It’s Read Across America Week! The kids set a goal today to read 35 books by Thursday! We will fill in what we read in class too! If they meet their goal they get to silly string Mr. Bruington Thursday afternoon!

Thursday we got to participate in the Aggie Olympics in celebration of FFA week. The kids loved it and we even got a special visit from Gracie to tell us about farm animals and their purposes.

Parent teacher conference notes went home yesterday. If you’re scheduled time does not work, please let me know.

I had a major problem today and I needed help with my puzzles. The kids learned what communication and teamwork were today. We talked about using kinds words, helping each other out, and completed a task. each team of 3 spent time on both puzzles to finish the job!

Valentines Day party!

Thank you for all that brought goodies and made our party fun! These are their typical poses so we just went with it 😂

We made decorations, made predictions, enjoyed some “bussin” pizza, and had fun with the Photo Booth. Mrs. Smith was the only one rooting for the eagles, so if I win the kids owe me ice cream! If the Chiefs win I owe them ice cream!

We enjoyed celebrating the Super Bowl today and had fun with all football themed activities!
