First round drama in DMP cup.

A tough game this morning which saw a hard fought win after 120 minutes of football.

The lads didn’t show up in the first half which resulted in Barrasford taking a deserved two goal lead in to half time. Things then changed with the lads going down hill in the second half. Midway through the second half James was brought down outside the box, which saw Alex M converted to the top left corner, as he often does so well. Shortly after James was then brought down again, this time inside the Barrasford box, which he converted himself to the left side of the goal,2-2, 90 minutes played.

Early in to extra time Barrasford took the lead again, which didn’t last long as minutes later James’s cross from the left was found by Matthew who finished brilliantly on the volley using his left. 3-3. We then took the lead for the first time in the game just before the break in extra time when the man in form Alex W finished tidily into the roof of the net from inside the box after a scrappy bit of play. Early in to the second half of extra time Alex W made it two for himself as he bundled the ball over the line again to make it 5-3. A fourth goal was then pulled back for Barrasford but the lads managed to hold on and get across the line.

We return this Sunday after a week off with more cup action, this time in the Doug Mathewson Cup.

We travel to second division side Barrasford Fc, hoping to continue our strong start to the season.

Back to back wins for the shire.

A 4-0 win in the cup this weekend as we hosted Mickley Social Fc. Great effort from all 16 involved today.

Alex opened the scoring after cutting in from the right and slotting it in to the bottom corner with his left foot. Minutes later Matthews cut back was met by James on the edge of the box who’s tidy finish found the bottom right corner. James then went and added the third, with a brilliant solo run as which he started from just outside of our box. Our fourth then came from a corner with Calum rising high and heading to the top corner. A clean sheet to go with the win thanks to another fantastic craigy double save.

First round of the ESI Limited Cup this weekend as we host second division side Mickley Social FC

A fixture we are quite familiar with which always promises a good game.

HEXHAMSHIRE ARE MASSIVE.

Top effort this morning as we collected our annual 3 points at the Mill. The lads were well up for the game after a UEFA grade fitness drill ran by Alex.

We took the lead early on after Joe found the top corner with a cracking finish from just inside the box. Chances then went a begging for both sides. Including a free kick from Alex which struck the wood work. Fitness levels showed in the end, as we continued to push for a second which was shortly found by Matthew after Cavs header at back stick was cut back to Matthew who headed home to the roof of the net, 2-0.

Big game this weekend, as we travel to Riding Mill in a fixture which always promises goals.

First round of the minor cup this weekend as we host Heaton Meadowfield at QEHS.

All support is welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Defeat on the road.

Completely out played by a very strong Windsor side. After a slightly competitive first half from us the Windsor turned it up a notch and well and truly battered us scoring some brilliant goals, before Cav scored a late brace including a great chip finish.

Well done to and good luck for the season.

We turn our attention to the cup next week.

First away match of the season as we’re on the road to face the newly promoted Windsor Fc.

A difficult fixture but the lads are hoping to continue on from Sundays strong start to the season.

Starting the new season with a win. 😮‍💨

A cracking team display in our opening fixture as we beat Crawcrook Social 4-1. We went in to the break leading four goals to nil, courtesy of a Matthew brace and a goal for both James and Cav.

The second half seen us go to 10 men midway through the half as Twiz was sent for an early shower, then late on Crawcrook managed to pull one back.

A superb game from the new man between the sticks James Craigy who made a load of great saves, including an incredible double save 🐈🧤

A win on the road!

After a slow start going into half time trailing by one goal to nil, the lads turned things around and got the job done with a convincing 4-1 win.

Appreciation post for ex head coach Jordan Dodwell and ex assistant coach Scott Roberts.

The pair who were often compared to Eddie Howe and mad dog Jason Tindall were gifted with a little something from the lads who all chipped in to say thank you.

The club can also announce that the number 9 shirt has been retired for Tilty, this is also to do with the fact that we can’t afford another one 😅

5 star performance this morning.

A top effort from all the boys today with a 9-0 win. The lads grafted their socks off in warm conditions.

Some liquid football on show today, working 9 high quality goals, with a clean sheet to complete things.

We return to QEHS this morning we take on Wark FC.

Back at QEHS this weekend as we host Wark FC in our second pre-season friendly.

4-1 loss in our opening pre-season game.

A game of two halves. A great opportunity today to give minutes to all the 24 players available.

We open up our pre-season schedule today as the lads take on Scotswood Social in our first of four friendlies.

Yesterday Riding Mill Football Club got pay back for us beating them on their home turf, earlier in the season, by coming to QEHS and taking away all 3 points.

Horrendous first 45 from us, which seems to becoming a common theme, going into the break 4-0 down. Thankfully we livened up in the second half and worked out where their goal was but Riding Mill’s experienced XI already had the game put to bed.

Lots of teams from across Northumberland were in the hat for draw, typically we drew a team from our league.

Game was due to be played away but due to pitch issues, we the game is to be played at Wentworth leisure centre in Hexham.

Summer signing number 7 - Sam Hindmarch

Sam just turned 17 a couple of weeks ago and we are his first mens football team after playing for Hexham juniors throughout his childhood. With stiff competition at CB, Sam featured from the bench in some of our opening 5 games of the season. He has then started the last 2 against Allendale & The Windsor.

Signing number 5 is Calum Seaton. Calum relocated, in the summer, to the North East from Lincolnshire for work. An experienced centre half who has earned his way into the starting XI the last 3 games after a couple of solid substitute appearances, at the beginning of the season.
