When did you last test your fire alarms?

Once fire alarms are installed, people often forget to regularly test them. How confident are you that your fire alarms work and will provide you with an early warning of a fire that could save your life?

It is recommended that fire alarms are tested at least once a month.

Some of the main causes of accidental fires are cooking appliances, smoking, faulty electrical appliances and candles.

One of the main reasons that people remove fire alarms is if they start causing a nuisance either by False alarms or bleeping - this can be a sign that the device is failing, or often that a device has been incorrectly installed, either in the wrong area or the wrong device type has been used.
