But One String August News and Offers Summertime greetings, another scorcher. I just re-read my July newsletter with it's tales of wind and rain and so I'm feeling a lot balmier this month.

ButOneString June News and Offers
But One String June News and Offers Summertime greetings. I hope you are enjoying the sunshine this month. In our house, there have already been cries of ‘too hot’ and ‘when will this heatwave end?’, but I hope that it lasts as long as possible.
What a 'Terrific Tuesday'! I was at the meet the maker event at Chiltern Open Air Museum in Chalfornt St Giles. It was so much fun for the kids with loads to do, see and learn. I had a fabulous time all day, and I think I may have introduced some of our next generation into the traditional craft of macrame.
Thank you Chiltern Open Air Museum and Chiltern Open Air Museum Gift Shop for inviting me and for the great display of my kits in the gift shop.
Last week I created this macrame door screen for a neighbour, ready to let the summer heat in, but keep the flying pests out. If you are interested in having a bespoke design for your home click below, contact me at [email protected], or pop along to the farmers market tomorrow for a chat with me on my But One String stall ( #24)

But One String News Flash - Class Update Macrame Workshop: plant pod Thursday April 13th, 10am-1pm
When does spring start for you? For me, it's always been the first sign of crocuses and daffodils by the roadside. As a child, we had tons of daffodils that would appear from seamingly random spots on our lawn in big clumps of strong straight shoots, and line the driveway with a bright yellow border signaling sunny days ahead. I'm not sure about the sun, but there are many busy days ahead in the ButOneString workshop this month. I hope you have a sunny spring and wish you all the best for the months ahead.
Valentine's Day is near. Why not give your special someone something different this year. These macrame hearts make a super cute gift. These wall hangings are handmade in the UK by me and last so much longer than flowers or chocolates. Available now in natural or deep red with free UK delivery. DM me or shop via https://www.butonestring.com or https://butonestring.etsy.com
Introducing my diamond pattern handbag and cluch bag designs. I've used a nifty side seam design on the handbag to give it some depth and no naughty sewing.
Available as the finished bags, DIY kit or pattern download. DM me for details or check out my Etsy (link in bio).
I consider myself a purist when it comes to macrame. I like to use all the cords and no more than I need, no inserts or hidden ends, no glue, and no sewing. I don't know why I consider these rules, and I doubt the macrame police will come after me for breaking them. So this latest design for a clutch bag or purse has me feeling a bit guilty. Swipe to the last photo to see evidence of a sewn seam and a knotted end. Guilty as charged. How do you feel about this little act of rebellion.
So thrilled to reach 100 sales on Etsy. I had no idea where my passion for knotting would lead. Now a year or so on, I am so happy sharing the macrame love.
Check out my patterns, kits and finished pieces on Etsy, link in the bio.
Starting to feel a little festive as we come out of lockdown. Time to celebrate just because we can. So how about a bit of bunting for your home and garden.
