Making these keychains really hit me. The people we met in California are some of our best friends we’ve made in our Coast Guard careers. A post with a picture will never do them justice. We miss you and think about you every day!

We’ve been on the road for almost a week and today we took a detour through Chicago to visit The Tannery Row! Talk about a kid in a candy shop experience! I learned a lot about Shell and even stamped a few of my own! Such a cool experience, thank you!

It’s always cool seeing the patina on projects from the past. I made this from in August, five months later it looks more like a bourbon color! This wallet belongs to a Senior Chief in the Coast Guard. 459 is significant because he’s the 459th qualified Surfman in our service. This dates back to the United States Life Saving Service, 1871-1914.
